OK, I know that MisKnits is open until 9 PM on Wednesday nights for "people to get together and make some progress on those unfinished projects"... Are there any other craft, yarn, bead, etc... stores that also do this? I'm trying to crawl out of my shell a little bit and actually (OMG!) met new people...

Does anybody know if there's anyplace in town one can go to purchase small quantities of good quality hardwood lumber (suitable for building frames or small shelves)?  Nicer, exotic wood preferred.  There used to be a place at Antioch Mall, I think it was called "Turn About Wood" or something like that, but it has since closed, like everything else ( Read more... )

A friend here at work has a quilt top pieced by her grandmother that she would like batted,backed, and otherwise finished so she can display it.  Does anyone know of anyplace I can recommend to her to get this done?  Anyone have a home-based business where they finish quilts?

Urban Arts + Crafts in the Briarcliff Village shopes near Riverside, MO is hosting a 5th Anniversary Artist Trading Card Contest to celebrate the store's fifth year.

Entries are being accepted from June 1st to June 30th and will be on display through July 25th for voting.

Anyone know of a store that sells metal purse frames here in KC?  I've just started a new Beaded Bag project and thought it would be a cool finishing touch, but can't seem to find one anywhere!
