I'm finally deep enough into my project that I can see (however faintly) the light at the end of the tunnel. So, now that I'm confident with it, I'm going to hang a date on the oncoming train of that overused metaphor.
By my thirtieth birthday in November, I will have finished writing my novel.
I'm currently at thirty three thousand words, and climbing every day. This project began in November (ironically) so while I've made a meaningful start, I don't believe I'm ahead of the curve. Thus, I've got to buckle down and write. I expect this to run a good ninety to hundred thousand, and I know that I slow a bit towards the middle, so I have to beat the mid-project crawl. Those of you who may be eager for more quickies posted to FA or SF may be a little disappointed, but trust me that the time's going to a worthwhile story.
Thanks guys, and with any luck, I'll soon have something fun to start pimping as my new magnum opus.
