Housing Update... again

We've settled into our new apartment now - fully marked by the dogs and all *_*  But I'm getting anxious to move on to a house. Our lease is up in November, and if we buy a house by the end of the year we'll get an $8,000 tax credit. Most recently we put an offer on another house in Falls Church. We raised our budget by $30,000 so we were hoping we'd have some good luck. Well it turns out our offer was rejected, but when our agent asked the seller's agent why, she said there wasn't much we could have done differently - that we had a really good offer. So I don't know why it was rejected - maybe the one they accepted was a cash offer. Or maybe they waived the house inspection or appraisal...

Anyway, I have a little more hope now that we were finally told we had a chance of competing. The seller says if their current contract falls through they'll come back to us. But in the mean time we're moving on. On Sunday we're going to start looking at houses in Alexandria, but only the ones inside or just outside the beltway. Since Alexandria is already so far south I want to at least stay inside 495. We're still going to look at Falls Church, but right now there's only one new house on the market that we haven't seen yet.

So that's where we're at now.

In other news we finally got the full set of Battlestar Galactica and I'm SO looking forward to watching it. It came with a nifty model of a cylon that I'm going to use for my Warforged mini ^_^. Though it won't actually fit on the hexes, so maybe I'll just set it by me for inspiration. My cough also seems to be dying down. Now it mostly just gets set off if I'm out walking the dogs, and occasionally inside. It's funny too because it finally started to get better once I called the doctor to try to make an appointment. I guess it's good that I wasn't able to.
