I've spent most of my gaming time over the past couple of months with a Final Fantasy of one sort or another. Since my last entry, I've backburnered FF3 in favor of FF11's new expansion, Seekers of Adoulin, and FF13-2. Finished FF13 tonight, after a very long hiatus. I had basically been making good progress from when I first got the game to my first eye surgery back in March of 2011. I'm now in Chapter 4, which means that among all my characters combined I have access to all six roles. I'm continuing to get the hang of the battle system. The key appears to be minimizing the amount of time characters spend in non-offensive roles. I may start a fight with my Saboteur (debuffer), get defense and magic down on the current target ( Read more... )

I'm about three hours in now, to the point where the Paradigms and Crystarium really start to come into play. So far, I'm liking it. I'm not minding the fact that there's been a lot of dialogue and not so much exploration and fighting. We'll see if I still feel that way after a while. I finally got around to officially preordering FF13 yesterday. The store may actually be having a midnight release party. Not sure if I will go; I'm not as young as I used to be and staying up all night playing is probably not a good idea. ;p
