That was really rather unexpected.
Lancashire beat Glamorgan by 14 runs, with only 153 to defend. After two draws when we should have declared a lot sooner to try and bowl out the opposition in their second innings, we finally seem to have rediscovered the winning formula*: get dismissed cheaply yourselves, so you have to bowl out the other lot.
* After all, we won the Championship on 2011 with only 37 batting points, when the next three teams had 45-plus.
It's a pity it didn't quite last into tomorrow morning, so that they could win on the 130th birthday of my maternal grandfather Sydney, a devoted Lancashire supporter, but if it had it would probably have meant Glamorgan got the runs. Never mind, it's his birthday present, so I will date the post to May 4 anyway.
