So after a wonderful night where William ate his very first oyster at King Neptune's ( I finally found my garlic oysters! ) and looking at different properties and sailboats; we went back to Shakes for some frozen custard, and to Happy Shak to shop for hippy clothes, didn't manage to convince my husband that I needed more hippy skirts.
We left around 11am today so we could stop at the souvenir shop to take pictures in front of the giant shark and get some zodiac shells. Back on the road we went but ever so often stopping by the local fruit stands to pick up a watermelon and some peaches that I have been craving this whole trip.
Upon arriving home we were greeted by our angry birds (Eastern Phoebes who have decided my front porch light makes a great nesting spot) who let us know that everything was fine just better when we were gone and not bothering them by our pesky use of our front door. William immediately ran to go water the tomatoes while Kevin went to go mow the back yard... I was keeping a careful eye on them both and checking out the blackberry bushes for their fruit, still not ready, but I am patient..
Meanwhile, I got sprayed with the hose and discovered even more baby frogs had hatched out and were hopping across the yard.. I scooped one up to show William and he of course was thrilled when it decided that his arm would be a nice place to rest. We let the little frog go on his way and went back to watering the tomatoes.
He was an absolute sweetheart the whole trip, he a very well behaved little boy :) We all needed this family time...Major life decisions aside I think everything really mellowed me out. I do really love my life and where I am at, all my frustration has been on trying to make meaning out of some horrifyingly random events.. this just puts into perspective my moment by moment philosophy on life... we only have here and now.. when we are gone that's it.. so I am going to make the best of what I have and I must say I have a lot going for me.
Life is beautiful...and the tears are drying..
