kali: So, yesterday on the subway I saw a Weird ThingTM. A woman, dressed in the top half of an expensive-looking and nicely cut business suit (jacket, shirt), a very conservative hairstyle, sensible yet stylish boots (not even remotely fetish looking), a bag/briefcase filled with lots of paperwork, AND NO PANTS. We look so happy in this picture, I almost don't care that I've got some sort of bizarre pool created seventies-guy-sideburn thing going on there. This was a candid shot taken of me and D. in the pool at the house in Cape May where I used to spend summers as a child. We had no idea it was being taken, but I'm happy it exists.

Last night, I was sitting in a hospital room, gazing out at the Hudson River. The span of the George Washington bridge is framed perfectly in the window. Underneath there is a little lighthouse, still red, still working.
