Prompt Code: B24
Title: Will You Stay With Me?

Days had passed and Kyungsoo’s arm finally scabbed over. There was no longer a need for him to be concerned of his health, which was a blessing.

He was still receiving the cold shoulder from a certain someone. Anytime he entered the same room Jongin occupied, he was either ignored or the other would leave. Some days, Kyungsoo wouldn’t see Jongin for hours at a time, feeling the time tick by in a slow, agonizing torture that made his skin itch. Madness started to knock on the walls of Soo’s mind, and by then, he felt he was close to losing it. He made a mental list of any possible ways he could fix the mess they had gotten themselves into, but to no avail. His endless efforts were consistently rejected. It was almost as if Jongin was repelling him and purposefully trying to set up these walls around his life. Locking Kyungsoo out. Kyungsoo tried the observation method more, watching Jongin’s behaviors and his odd ways of living in silence. Kyungsoo was a problem solver, and by God, he was gonna haul their ass out of this funk.

Every once in a while, Jongin would have an outburst and yell and scream and lock himself in his room. Kyungsoo could hear the other cursing so loudly, he thought even sailors would have been offended by his crude mouth. But every morning, without fail, Jongin would come out of his room and act like nothing had happened, no matter if he had a fit or not. Kyungsoo was so confused that it almost hurt. The younger’s moods were starting to affect him. Kyungsoo never dared to ask about his odd behavioral issues, but he always wondered who had caused them and why. He was no doctor, but he knew Jongin was facing extremities in bipolarism and depression. It didn’t take a genius to figure out the signs that were clearly laid out on the ground for him.

It wasn’t until the beginning of the second week of being trapped in that hot, stuffy apartment that Jongin started to open up.

There were dark clouds covering the sky, signaling that rain was undoubtedly in the future. The past few nights had been freezing inside the apartment, and Kyungsoo didn’t know if he could endure another night with the current weather. As night approached KyungSoo carefully knocked on Jongin’s door letting the sound resonate throughout the room before he spoke.

“H-hey Jongin? Are you in there?” His voice filled up the silence of the void before he heard the shifting of bed sheets and the sound of feet on the floor.

“What is it, Owl Eyes?” Jongin was quick to reply as the door swung open with a half asleep figure standing in front of him.

Before Kyungsoo could even get mad at the use of his nickname, Jongin absentmindedly scratched his bare chest, providing attention to his abdomen and causing the older boy to almost swoon at the sight of what he would call chocolate abs. Kyungsoo gulped before looking up at Jongin and blinking a few times, his face beginning to heat up, mouth opening and closing like a fish.

“I- Uhm.” He tried to make a coherent sentence, but before he could do so, a large clap of thunder rumbled through the sky, making Kyungsoo jump in his skin. He peered up at Jongin, looking for a reaction, but he was lost in a trance, somewhere in his own dangerous world.

“Jongin? What are you looking at?” Kyungsoo asked him while turning around to see what the younger was so interested in. There was nothing behind him.

“H-hey Jongin are you okay?” He said while waving a hand in front of Jongin’s face who didn’t even acknowledge him.

“Jong-” Kyungsoo tried to get out another sentence, but another crack echoed through the room, and Jongin suddenly sank to the floor with his hands firmly gripped over his ears. Anxiety paraded his skin in goosebumps, and the memories flashed before him.

Kyungsoo watched in slow motion as Jongin opened his mouth in a silent scream. He slowly curled up into a ball and shut his eyes tightly.

“Se-” Jongin started to say but was cut off by another clap of thunder and the rain started pouring on the apartment roof. Jongin jumped this time, violently shaking in his panic. Kyungsoo stood above him with eyes wide, not quite processing what was happening. A million thoughts raced through Kyungsoo’s mind as he finally got a grip on his own state of mind.

“Jongin-” Another flash of lightning filled the apartment for a split second, letting Kyungsoo see the tears falling down Jongin’s face. Kyungsoo breathed deeply, scared as to what might happen next if Jongin was to have another outbreak like earlier. He bent down towards Jongin’s face, making their faces line up so that they were eye to eye.

“Jongin, look at me!” Kyungsoo said more urgently this time, and placed his hands over Jongin’s on his head. “Jong-” the thunder clapped again, making Jongin jump under Kyungsoo’s soft touches.

“Se.. hun.. Hun.. hunnie” Jongin cried out, curling his fingers and staring off into the emptiness. He continued to cry for ‘Sehunnie’ whilst rocking back and forth on balls of his feet.

Kyungsoo sat down next to Jongin, softly making him come to a standstill and put Jongin’s head on his shoulder. He brought up his other hand and slowly threaded his fingers through Jongin’s hair.

“Shh.. Jongin I’m here. You’re okay.. Shh. I’m not going anywhere.” His words were falling on deaf ears though, as Jongin’s mind was far away.

Jongin saw white as he closed his eyes.

The atmosphere he saw was all too familiar. He stood at the top of the stairs in the warehouse, which according to a man they’d met weeks ago, was safe. The sun was just setting and dark storm clouds were gathering in the distance, slowly floating towards their location. The awkward collage of oranges, pinks and greys filtered through the cracks of the warehouse and stained the windows. Their leader Minho had noticed the clouds and told the group to start to batton down the hatches for the long night ahead. Jongin was taking care of the chores that he was specifically assigned to.

Jongin certainly liked his title of being the macho man, and took it with pride and he liked to think that Sehun liked it too. Sehun was his high school sweetheart. They met because his older brother Joonmyun and Sehun both had the same science class, even though they were in different years. One night Joonmyun brought Sehun home for a group project and instead of helping Joonmyun, Sehun spent all his time flirting and talking to Jongin. The two of them quickly fell in love over the course of two years and before they knew it, they were both accepted to the same college and were pursuing their dreams. Sehun wanted to be a Neurosurgeon while Jongin wanted to be a Electrical Engineer. As different as they were, they loved each other very much.

When the outbreak first happened, Sehun and Jongin were walking around campus together, and immediately left with another group of classmates before the frenzy got worse. They stuck together for as long as they could, but as society crumbled around them, so did their ties to one another. Some turned on each other and they quickly lost numbers that way. Then others decided to leave the group to go in different directions, everyone looking out for themselves in order to increase their chances of survival. Eventually, they met Minho’s group and decided to stay with them, since it seemed like the most logical choice. They had all survived this long and seemed better off than most of the people Jongin and Sehun had encountered so far in their journey. Everyone had their place in the group, and they all recognized Minho as a good leader, therefore here were no fights among them, all working together like a well oiled machine. Sehun and Jongin quickly catched up with everyone’s pace, and it finally seemed like they could stay with a group for more than a couple weeks.

Jongin had finished his chores early and walked down the staircase, searching for his lover. The rain had started not too long ago, and thunder was echoing off of the rocky mountains in the distance.

“Sehun?” He called out not seeing anyone in his sight even though it was a huge 16,000 square foot warehouse with nothing on the ground floor.

Jongin heard a scream echo throughout the warehouse, making his blood run cold. He knew that voice. Jongin bolted from where he stood, and ran outside into the rain, fighting through the cutting droplets that poured from the sky. An absolute cliche of a moment, and Jongin hadn’t noticed. Yet.

He spotted two figures, one running towards him, and another moving quickly behind him, but with a slight limp. Jongin knew what the second figure was. A walker, and a fast one at that. Jongin stood still as Sehun ran towards him, expecting the other to reach him in no time, until he saw the other suddenly crumble to the ground. Jongin screamed for him, his stomach twisting as he ran to reach for him. Red blurred his vision, and with another crack of the sky’s whip, the gangly creature reached for Sehun, barely a few steps behind.

He watched Sehun reach for him, and every memory he ever held dear to his heart, memories stained with Sehunnie’s face, flashed before him. In a single instant, red littered the dirt below, and all Jongin could do was wail in trepidity. He watched in agony as his lover’s beautiful skin was peeled back like a stringed cheese and torn into by this savage thing. Tears, pain, snot, blood. All of it choked Sehun as he bawled, weakly pushing at the monster’s head, trying to detach himself from his suffering. Rotten teeth sunk into young, healthy organs, and all Jongin could do was sink to the ground as he watched the love of his life be ripped to pieces. He wouldn’t even get to die in the arms of someone he knew, but at the greedy mouth of a bottomless pit.

Sehun’s eyes bore into Jongin’s and his life slipped from him, his screams muffled by his last escaping breath. He was gone. Just like that.

He should’ve heard the gun go off, but his absence to the world left him empty and lifeless on the ground. He looked back and saw Minho standing with a shotgun in his hand, smoke rising from the barrels like the flaring nostrils of a dragon. Jongin returned his focus onto his now dead, dead but still stunningly gorgeous lover, who lay under the corpse of the fucker who tore him open. A second shot rang out, and Jongin crumpled into himself. He couldn’t bare to face Sehun, not with a bullet wound right between his sullen, dead eyes. He screamed, and screamed, and screamed. His throat going rugged and hoarse, he clawed at the ground and bowed his head. He prayed to every fucking God out there to spare Sehun. Praying the pain would never be retained in his memory in whatever afterlife he may find himself in. God, he hoped reincarnation didn’t exist. Minho wrapped his arms around Jongin, and made him shut his eyes while he held his palms over the boy’s ears, shielding him from the cackling laughter of the storm.

The same thunder that now brought him back to his harsh reality.

“I could have saved him, Kyungsoo” Jongin sobbed out taking short hiccupped breathes. “I… I watched him be killed.”

“I could have saved him, Kyungsoo” Jongin sobbed out taking short hiccupped breathes. “I let him die.”

“Let who die, Jongin?” Kyungsoo said in a panic, and Jongin opened his mouth in a silent wail while burying his head into Kyungsoo’s shirt.

“I’m a fucking coward!” Jongin harshly whispered into Kyungsoo’s chest, sobbing into his shirt, taking fists of fabric into his hands. With tragedy in his hands and saline staining his puffy cheeks, he cried himself to sleep in the arms of a very frightened and confused Kyungsoo.

*

Jongin woke the next morning with his head on Kyungsoo’s shoulder, both of them in the same position as the night before. He shifted his head a little, focusing his attention on the heat that blazed from his cheek. He peered down to see Kyungsoo’s hand placed gently atop his bare chest, fingers curled gently. It began to slowly descend down his torso until it suddenly plopped down by Jongin’s waist. He broke into a soft smile, but it dimmed down as he retraced his thoughts to last night’s harrowing experience, worrying his bottom lip. He felt Kyungsoo stir, and he instantly squeezed his eyes shut, hoping the other would fall for his shitty display of faux sleep and not poke at him for answers.

“I know you’re awake.”

Fuck.

Jongin stayed mum, inhaling deeply before releasing a long sigh. Kyungsoo tsked and smiled at Jongin’s lack of response. He wrapped his arms around Jongin a little tighter and rubbed his thumb against the dip of his waist.

“You know, you don’t always have to act all tough around me.” Kyungsoo’s smile became melancholy as he shifted himself into a more comfortable position, redirecting his hand to gently place itself upon Jongin’s other shoulder.

“I’m here to stay.” He promised.

Kyungsoo knew he was treading on shallow water, but he knew Jongin needed to hear these words. After the younger’s panic attack, which shot through the air faster than the lighting, Kyungsoo was desperate to get the other out of his shell. He wanted to see the other side of Jongin, the one he assumed only this stranger from the photo book ever saw. He feared the darkness that chained Jongin’s heart.

Jongin pressed his lips together at Soo’s words. His eyes watered and he scrunched them tightly to jail the water in, forbidding himself to cry again. The wall began to build, one agonizing, heavy brick at a time. He felt himself exhaust his body from constant building. He wanted so badly to just be over it. He would never forget that frightful, arduous memory of the night that Sehun died, or the horrors that came with them. Being honest with Kyungsoo meant facing his past, and he was pretty damn sure he didn’t want to face such that tragedy again. He had purposefully buried Sehun both physically and mentally to avoid digging him back up. Putting his life and body on display would permanently crush Jongin, and he needed that last shrill of hope to keep him running. Keep him moving forward to a better future. Or, at least a living one. Ripping off a bandaid was one thing, but you can’t rip off a scar without making a new one.

“I’m sorry.” He bit out, voice cracking and his breath becoming uneven. Kyungsoo felt Jongin’s body shake, running his hand up and down his arm gently in attempt to comfort him.

“Don’t be.“You’re hurting Jongin, it’s perfectly fine to be scared.” He whispered into the younger’s hair, giving it a light, comforting kiss. “But, you’re safe now.”

Jongin nodded his head weakly and pulled away from Kyungsoo to look into his eyes.

Jongin drew in a rather large breath and then puffed out his cheeks. “So what was he like? Your boyfriend I mean.”

Kyungsoo shook his head confused. Why was Jongin asking about this now? “I’m sorry… what?”

Jongin widened his eyes at his own question. “W-wait you uh don’t have to answer if you don’t want to, I’m so sorry-”

But Kyungsoo instantly shook Jongin’s panic off. “No, it’s fine, Jongin. I think it might be good for me to share some of my memories instead of bottling them up.”

Kyungsoo smiled, softly recalling the memories before beginning

“His name was Kris, and he came here as an exchange student from China. Ironically we met online.” He chuckled to himself and Jongin simply watched, keeping his distance a little. “He was so nice to me, and his profile online was almost perfect. I remember messaging him and I never expected a response from him since I had seen so many girls write on his wall.” He scoffed. “If he was here to hear that he would have rolled his eyes.” He shook his head and chuckled. “Kris was.. Well is so different from any other guy I had ever met. He was so tall, and when I hugged him it felt like there was no room for anything else to bother me. He also dyed his hair a lot” Kyungsoo laughed and wiped a stray tear with his sleeve. That’s when Jongin noticed that he was crying, soft tears ran down his face and glistened on Kyungsoo’s skin. “To be very honest the last memory I have of him is losing his freshly dyed strawberry blonde hair in a sea of people in panic.” Kyungsoo hung his head. “I don’t even know if he’s dead or alive. I mean I’m glad I didn’t have to watch him suffer, but I had always wondered. Whatever happened to Kris Wu the shy Chinese linguist major.”

“I wish I could have been left wondering.” Jongin softly voiced out.

They sat in a uncomfortable silence.

Jongin bit his lip and looked down after a while, he took another deep breath, before beginning his journey through the pain.

“I want to tell you..” he murmured. “I just don’t know how to start.” Kyungsoo smiled softly, understanding and nodded his head.

“You can take as long as you want Jongin. Nothing is going to interrupt us.” Jongin looked into Kyungsoo’s eyes, studying them with purpose and intensity.

“Okay, I trust you.”

He snuggled back onto Kyungsoo’s chest, taking a deep breath.

“His name was Oh Sehun.”

He waited for a response. Kyungsoo hummed.

“We went to highschool together and met through my older brother. He was nothing short of a brat. Always whining about everything and skulking around like he’d rather be dead than deal with people. Funny though, it was one of the reasons why I loved him. At times, you remind me of him, but usually, you’re complete opposites.

He took a moment to cough, resettling himself against Kyungsoo.

“We attended college together, for the first semester before the infection broke out. We had talked about maybe get married in the future. Sehun was always setting our goals, he was more into striving and achieving. I mostly go with the flow.. Plus it was always so cute just watching him get worked up over plans he wanted us to follow through with in the near or far future. But, since he was always so busy planning, I never caught the time to drop the big question.”

Jongin took another chance to regain himself. Breathe in, breathe out.

“Silly isn’t it… how the most trivial things in life are the ones that are most remembered.”

Jongin chuckled wiping tears he didn’t notice he had.

“Sehun was the last person I had. I never knew what became of my brother and parents, and I took our time together for granted.”

A pause. Jongin’s breath stuttered.

“The night he died there was a huge storm rolling in from the south, and the people we had been traveling with sent us on different jobs. We did that occasionally, depending on strength or whatever other attributes we had. Ya know, dividing to get more shit done. That way those who were physically stronger could handle jobs without worrying about someone being left behind, blah blah blah. Anyways, I was upstairs, making sure the heavy duty work was being finished up properly while Sehun went out for firewood. He never looked it, but that kid could fucking run. Well, the storm had made things kind of patchy and fucked up and… well…”

Jongin’s voice cracked towards the end, he shut his eyes tightly.

“I was walking down to find him when I heard him screa-”

“Jongin you don-”

“No! I’m gonna finish. I said I would.”

Kyungsoo felt Jongin’s breath shatter against his shirt, shoulders shaking.

“I busted out of the door and struggled through all the mud and shit. When I found him he was reaching for me and being chased by one of the walkers. The thing was faster than any other walker I had ever come across, and it scared the shit out of me. I had my arm out and was ready to catch him and drag him along to safety. He was gonna make it, and everything would have been fine. Our leader had run to grab his weapon when he heard me rush down the stairs, so I was positive that everything would be fine.”

Kyungsoo rose his brows, the suspense biting at him.

“But he tripped.”

Kyungsoo stopped breathing. Gawking at the horror that was to come. He began to breath cautiously.

“I watched this thing take him down in a single lunge, and completely tear into him. All I could do was freeze and sink to the ground. I watched every grotesque second of his death. And if it wasn’t for Minho… I probably would have had to watch Sehun come back.”

Jongin sobbed, choking on the build up in his throat.

“I couldn’t even fucking kill him, Kyungsoo. I couldn’t fucking save him from agony… I had to watch someone else end his pain. How pathetic am I? To not even give the one person I love the satisfaction of a painless death, and just watched him scream for me.”

He sobbed into Kyungsoo’s chest, who held him tight and ran his finger’s through his brown locks.

“Jongin, you aren’t pathetic. I would have done the same thing.”

Jongin nodded his head in response. His heart was heavy with loss again, and it felt like he had just lost Sehun all over again.

Kyungsoo sniffled loudly, pulling the younger from his thoughts. Jongin shifted and turned his head around to face Kyungsoo.

“Soo?” Concern laced in his question. He looked up into Kyungsoo’s eyes, which were lined with water, surprising Jongin just enough to make his own eyes open a little wider.

“Kyungsoo, why do you look like you are about to start crying?”

Kyungsoo sniffled and wiped his nose with his sleeve. “Jongin, I can’t even imagine what you have been through.” Honest words which held the other’s attention with bated breath. “I don’t want to imagine.” He said with a shake of his head, almost like he was trying to get rid of the thought that he also could lose someone so quickly and without notice.

Jongin shifted his weight around so that his whole body was now facing Kyungsoo, with a sad look on his face. He noticed that Kyungsoo had lowered his head refused to look up.

Jongin reached with his left hand and wiped Kyungsoo’s tears from his eyes, his hand lingering on Kyungsoo’s face as he rubbed circles with his thumb on his cheek.

“Hey, look at me.” He said, repeating what Kyungsoo had said to him earlier that morning.

Kyungsoo bit his lip and slowly moved his head up towards Jongin, but his eyes were still downcast. Jongin placed his other hand on top of Kyungsoo’s thigh. Startled he looked up and Jongin with wide eyes.

“What are you-”

Jongin looked into Kyungsoo’s eyes in concern. A million questions were running through both of their minds, but Kyungsoo knew which question Jongin was trying to ask him.

Kyungsoo’s mouth opened to say something but nothing came out of his mouth. His throat was dry from crying and his eyes glistened again but this time for a different reason.

The two of them stared into each other’s eyes and leaned closer until their breaths mixed together.

“I’m not going anywhere.” Kyungsoo barely got out in a whisper before he closed his eyes and impulsively leaned forward to sealed their lips together… sloppily. Jongin jolted in shock, undoubtedly feeling the warmth that flushed his face and chest. He awkwardly shifted his left hand to cup the back of Soo’s head, lightly grasping his hair. The kiss was slow moving, drowning them in care and fear simultaneously. One wasn’t more afraid of the other, they both feared for each other. When they pulled away, they stared into each other’s eyes before Kyungsoo leaned his forehead onto Jongin’s and closed his eyes.

There were no words that were needed to be said. They both had the same question in mind: What was going to happen tomorrow?

*

Jongin woke up the next morning to Kyungsoo shaking him awake. He blinked his eyes a few times before he looked up and fully recognised who it was sitting next to him. Jongin groaned and stretched, still laying down under the sheets.

“What t ime is it?” he asked while squinting his eyes trying to make them adjust to the light.

“Probably around about six thirty.” Kyungsoo stated and turned over on the bed so that he was facing the wall. “We need to go out.”

Jongin sighed and squeezed his eyes shut. His gut twisted with nervousness, and he looked at Kyungsoo quietly, studying the side of his face closely. The older looked nervous as well and his shoulders were tense.

Jongin sighed, “Well let me get up and get ready really quick and we’ll be back in no time-”

“Jongin.” Kyungsoo paused and turned his body back around to look at Jongin. “I’m scared.”

The comment was brushed off by the younger as he continued “Kyungsoo we’ll be fine it’s just a quick trip there and back-”

“What if something goes wrong? What if I lose you. What happens then?”

“Kyungsoo you aren’t going to lose me. I’m not going anywhere-”

“No Jongin you don’t understand. What if you die just like Sehun did. But this time I’m the one who’s going to be frozen and no one is going to save me.” Jongin stared blankly at Kyungsoo, who was now breathing heavily and his eyes already threatened by tears waiting to come out.

“What happens then Jongin?”

*

By the time they had left the apartment, the sun was halfway to the middle of the sky. They packed lightly just in case something happened, and they had to drop their bags and run and receive them again later. It was enough essentials to keep them alive for a few days if anything. Kyungsoo had his small pistol in his pocket and a small backpack with water and other escentuals. Jongin carried his rifle on his shoulder, and an empty bright blue jansport bag he had found in the closet to put food in once they reached their destination.

They silently made their way down the steps being careful to not make any unneeded noise. It only took a few minutes for the two of them to make it down stairs and into the lobby. Kai went first leading Kyungsoo through the abandoned room. He took a look at his handy work he did when he was last down here, the first time he met Kyungsoo. The couches hadn’t been touched, which he was glad for, although he could never take chances. The doors weren’t glass so he couldn’t see outside of the building. They were going in blind outside and Kyungsoo didn’t like it one bit.

“Jongin I don’t like this.. We don’t even know what is outside.” He whisper shouted.

“Oh calm down would you please. I’m sure it’s fine outside it’s been more than a few days.”

Kyungsoo nodded his head and bit his lips nervously as Jongin walked towards his barricade.

“Don’t just stand their princess, come on.”

Kyungsoo took a deep breath, calming his heart rate and walked over to Jongin who was moving one couch so that one door could open and let them sneak through.

“Stay here” Jongin said as they moved it enough for their bodies to fit and nothing else. “I’m just going to take a look outside really quick to check if the coast is clear.” Kyungsoo nodded softly and watched as Jongin went out the door and into the parking lot. He held his breath as the door closed behind him, and swallowed hard. He’s going to be fine He kept repeating to himself.

Jongin took his time surveying the area, taking extra care to make sure it was all clear. The walkers must have scattered during the thunderstorm he thought. He rounded the parking lot, taking careful note of the surroundings and clues as to where the walkers might have gone next.

Finally he entered back through the door and noticed that Kyungsoo let out a breath.

“Hey,” Jongin approached the shorter. “Look at me.” he took Kyungsoo’s face and lifted it up.

“I’m right here. I’m not going anywhere.. It’s okay.” He said while studying the older’s face. Kyungsoo nodded his head slightly, and closed his eyes for a second. “I’m just really scared.” he looked up at Jongin, with fear in his eyes. “I don’t like this.” he replied truthfully.

Jongin nodded and let out a deep breath making his cheeks puff out. “Do you trust me?”

Kyungsoo slowly nodded his head not understanding where this was going.

“I’ll protect you so don’t worry. We will be fine. I promise. I can’t lose you either.”

Kyungsoo took a deep breath and nodded his head.

“Come on. We need to get going we are burning daylight.” This time Kyungsoo nodded his head more firmly as Jongin let go of his face, and his eyes lingered on his face. They pulled away from each other and Jongin grabbed Kyungsoo’s hand.

“Let’s go”

*

Jongin and Kyungsoo traveled hand in hand through the deserted mountain town in silence, listening to their surroundings. Walkers could be silent, and neither of them wanted to take chances.

They hiked through the streets, gazing in awe at the plush pine trees that stretched for miles. They treaded on towards the abandoned store Jongin frequented, keeping a vague, mental list of the materials they needed. The dread of being cornered or chased by the walkers plagued the front of their minds.

Jongin really didn’t know how he was supposed to protect Kyungsoo if they were to run into trouble. He didn’t want to use the rifle or pistol it he didn’t absolutely need to, and since he rarely ever did, he worried about his ability to properly keep them safe. Jongin hated being outside. It was why he always was so cautious of everything he did around the inside and outside building. He feared being found by the vicious beasts, and most of all he feared death itself. He didn’t want to turn into a walker and possibly kill another innocent person. He had seen the horrible wrath of that kind more than once, and the mental image had stained in his brain. He vowed to never become one of them, but not to die either, since he had no idea what would happen next.

Jongin eyed the neighborhood again, double checking for signs of walkers. Nothing was weird about the street before him it was empty, with no signs of life.

The sun was now coming to a head, and thankfully, it wasn’t too hot for the both of them (since they both were carrying their supply bags). Kyungsoo carried the water, while Jongin carried the empty bags to bring back cans of food. They stalked carefully.

They passed by a few streets, each one more empty and deserted than the last. Many shop doors were kicked down and windows were shattered. Glass decorated the streets, from windows and car doors. It was the “handy and sly” work of house raiders, whom had emptied out the valuables before Jongin had arrived.

As they got closer to their destination, Kyungsoo began to turn his head every which way, fear getting the best of him. Kyungsoo began to shake as he walked, and Jongin gave him a reassuring hand squeeze, watching the elder look up at him with fearful eyes. His eyebrows were furrowed together, and a questioning look appeared on his face.

“Hey, we’ll be fine.” He said softly, continuing to pulling him along, trying to be the stronger one of the two so Kyungsoo could lean on him emotionally, if he wished.

It was when they passed by a small shop that Kyungsoo got chills up his spine. It was a small shop, with white roof panes that were peeling due to the sun raining down on them. Kyungsoo glanced over when he saw something move inside. His heart stopped and his stomach dropped in fear. Immediately he turned towards Jongin, who had been oblivious to anything happening.

“Jongin!” Kyungsoo whispered harshly, and tugged on his hand trying to get him to see the movement inside. “S-something is in there.” He barely got out and looked again towards the store. “I swear to fucking God, something is inside that shop.” He said more urgently, pointing at the store.

Jongin scrunched his eyebrows and squinted his eyes looking over at the shop. Nothing seemed out of place to him, Kyungsoo probably was imagining things due to fear. Jongin shook his head. “I don’t think there is something there, Soo.” He paused. “It could have just been an animal or something. Come on. If it was what you think, I don’t want to take a chance.”

He pulled Kyungsoo along, and finally they headed into the abandoned store. Jongin unboarded the wooden planks he had nailed up, and slipped inside the small opening. Kyungsoo followed suit and the two of them finally reached their destination.

“How many should we bring back?” Kyungsoo asked as he started plucking cans from off the shelf and into his bag. Jongin shrugged his shoulders and hummed. “The more we bring back the less we have to come back here.” Kyungsoo nodded, happy with Jongin’s answer and sighed while placing the canned vegetables into his backpack. Jongin placed food in his bag also.

With their bags filled to the brim with canned goods, Kyungsoo and Jongin slipped back out through the side entrance of the store, and Jongin nailed the sides back up.

With now heavy bags, they began to make their way back to the safety of their apartment.

They walked down the same street, a little slower since now the cans were slowing them down quite a bit

They passed by the shop Kyungsoo didn’t like and Jongin leaned over to catch his breath, the cans weighing him down. Kyungsoo also stopped for a moment before he saw something move yet again out the of the corner of his eye. His blood ran cold as he saw a walker emerge from said shop, and begin to walk towards Jongin. Kyungsoo’s body went stiff with fear as it got closer to them. It was like he was paralyzed.

“Kyungsoo what are you looking at?” Jongin said as he leaned back up, and then turned behind him to see the walker heading straight for them. His eyes widened, and he instantly recovered. “Kyungsoo we have to leave now.” He said, and grabbed the older’s hand, pulling him.

“Kyungsoo, snap out of it.” He said as they began running what seemed like the opposite direction, towards the fence to the forest on third street, the one Kyungsoo had cut his arm on. Kyungsoo finally regaining himself, running alongside Jongin.

“Where are we going?! Jongin!” He yelled at him, as they ran through the streets. “We can’t just go through the forest, I don’t think there is a way out down there.

Jongin shook his head. “I know a way.” They looked behind them to see that the walker was gaining speed, and was hot on their tail.

“Jongin!” Kyungsoo yelled out as he almost tripped, but luckily Jongin’s grip on his hand stopped him from falling short.

“Be careful.” He said back and the two of them continued running towards the fence.

Jongin began climbing as soon as he reached the metal links, and Kyungsoo did the same. The walker was quickly approaching the two of them.

Jongin safely made it to the other side and hopped down, and took a deep breath. “It’s okay he can’t get us now that we are-” Jongin stopped short of his sentence, and looked back behind him to see Kyungsoo stuck in the fence.

“Jongin” He said, barely breathed out, tears streaming down his face. The walker closer now than he was before.

Jongin clicked into action, and ran to Kyungsoo.

“My shoe” He cried, trying to wiggle his foot out of the fence. Jongin panicked and with shaky hands he tried to get his foot out of the fence as quick as he could. “Fucking shit Kyungsoo.” He mumbled, and kept pushing the other’s foot through the fence, trying to get him out.

“Jongin” Kyungsoo sobbed, as he pulled hard to remove his foot from the wiry fence.

Jongin’s blood ran cold, as he watched the walker get closer and closer to Kyungsoo. It was with one last hard push that his foot came clean out of the metal fence, and Kyungsoo scrambled over the top, falling onto the ground, landing his knees against the moss.

Jongin immediately rushed over to him, and picked him up, worry etched on his face. “Oh my god.” He said and shook his head, tears threatening to come out.

He hugged the older with all his might, and took in a shaky breath. It was then that they heard the walker hit the fence, arms reaching through trying to get them. Kyungsoo jumped, and looked up at Jongin with fear and relief in his eyes. Jongin nodded his head, and took Kyungsoo’s hand. The both of them ran through the forest avoiding trees, stumbling through the small path.

Jongin slammed the door to the apartment and locked the deadbolts shakely, forgetting to double check like he always did. He turned around to face Kyungsoo, almost slamming right into his face from how close the other was. Both of their breaths came out in soft pants trying to recover from running up the stairs in fear for their lives.

“Kyungsoo…” He looked into Kyungsoo’s eyes, falling deep into their inky black void, brown-golden speckles kissing the edged of his iris’. His heart felt heavy, the emptiness had been throbbing for something to fill it. He flicked his gaze down at Soo’s plump lips, quickly coming back to look him in the eyes. Before he could take action, Kyungsoo wrapped his arms around Jongin’s neck and mashed his lips against the other’s. White space dusted Jongin’s mind as fire and sparks of hormones smothered him inside. The nerves in the tips of his fingers were burning in heat as he hastily reached for Kyungsoo’s hips and pulled him in until they were flushed together. He nibbled and licked at Soo’s bottom lip before they broke for air. They pressed their foreheads together, feeling each other’s hot breath. They stared into each other’s eyes in silence.

Both of them knew what they were getting themselves into; a relationship that might never last a lifetime, but they were willing to take the risk.

“I can’t lose you.” Jongin whispered while breathing hard and interrupting the silence.

Kyungsoo studied his face as Jongin let out a small chuckle that sounded like a sob before he pulled Jongin back to his lips with an open mouth kiss. Jongin reciprocated the kiss, hands latching onto Kyungsoo’s hips even harder to steady himself more as he bent his knees to become the same height as the older, gaining better access to his mouth. The two of them stumbled through the living room attempting to get through while crashing into things that were scattered around the floor before Jongin gave in and picked Kyungsoo up by his thighs. Kyungsoo immediately wrapped his legs around Jongin’s torso, and was carried into Jongin’s bedroom.

As soon as they were inside Jongin shoved Kyungsoo up against the wall, his hands sneaking under the other’s shirt and his mouth attaching to his neck. Kyungsoo let out a breathy moan and arched his back against the wall as soon as Jongin started toying with his nipples, flicking the sensitive nubs with his index fingers. He circled the nubs, pinching and pulling them until they were a bright, flushed red. Kyungsoo’s body inched up the wall every time he arched his back, letting Jongin gain more access to his bright red nubs.

“J-Jongin.. Please…” Kyungsoo moaned out and pressed a little on the other’s chest. He moaned loudly as the younger left his neck leaving a bright red patch on his skin behind, pulling Kyungsoo’s shirt over his head. Jongin’s chest rumbled as he quickly carried them over to the bed and placed a knee on the bed before plopping Kyungsoo onto the sheets, watching him bounce lightly against the mattress. Kyungsoo looked up at Jongin with innocent eyes as he scanned his body. His eyes traced every inch of Jongin until they landed on his noticeable bulge. Kyungsoo licked his lips, pupils blown in arousal, looking back up at Jongin, who smirked and slowly began taking off his own shirt. Jongin lifted up the front of his tee, and lifted the remaining fabric over his head and shoulders, tousling his hair. Jongin’s shirt was still attached to one arm as he threw it down onto to ground, letting it land anywhere it pleased. He looked back at Kyungsoo with a knowing smirk. It wasn’t a question that Kyungsoo had stared before, and now he felt himself get embarrassingly hard from just looking at the younger’s toned body. Jongin hummed in satisfaction, fumbling with his belt buckle while keeping eye contact with Kyungsoo. He unlatched the fassle and let his pants drop to the ground with a thud leaving him clad in his underwear. He stepped out of his pants and noticed Kyungsoo’s not so subtle gaze.

“Like what you see?” He teased. He expecting a condescending reply, but it didn’t come. All Jongin heard was a barely audible “yes” escape from Kyungsoo’s lips. And it was enough for Jongin’s whole world to be overcome by lust.

He crawled onto the bed slowly, keeping eye contact until he was towering over him. He leaned down and kissed him hard to where he could taste a metallic tang.

Jongin placed a hand on one of Kyungsoo’s knees, pushing it aside so he could lay his hips between Soo’s quivering legs. He rolled his hips, causing Kyungsoo to gasp in surprise at the sudden friction.

“Holy shit Jongin” He cursed under his breath. Kyungsoo tilted his head to the side for air as Jongin continued to tease him, pulling his hips up.

It was then that Kyungsoo looked back up at Jongin, and keened at the way Jongin’s hair framed his face, his stomach filling with butterflies and twisting nerves. Kyungsoo began to reach down to his pants to start to pull them off, but Jongin stopped him and almost immediately leaned down and shifted his body to hover over Kyungsoo’s crotch. Jongin looked up at Kyungsoo to see the elder’s wide eyes staring straight at him with pupils blown out with lust. His fingers slowly unbuttoned Kyungsoo’s pants, and his hand grazed over the older’s bulge that was painfully pressing against the fabric. Kyungsoo’s hips followed the softest of touches. He lifted himself up slightly, searching for Jongin’s touches, but was met with two hands that latched onto the fabric of his pants and aggresively pulled them down. Kyungsoo shimmed his waist out of the tight jeans that hugged his hips, finally free from the uncomfortable strain. Jongin pulled his pants all the way off Kyungsoo’s legs and traveled back up to be face to face with the elder.

Jongin’s left hand found it’s place next to Kyungsoo’s head and his right gently rubbed circles on Kyungsoo’s cheek. No words were shared between the both of them. Each flutter of a lash and twitch of an eye told it all. Soo’s arms slowly wrapped around Jongin’s torso and pulled him down so that their crotches were aligned with each other.

Jongin let out a low moan giving Kyungsoo shivers down his spine. The elder gasped and breathed out short quick breaths of air as Jongin began to circle his hips adding pressure every time. He let out another low moan and stuffed his face into the corner of Kyungsoo’s neck, all while keeping the same pace with his hips. Kyungsoo tilted his head back and small high pitched, stuttered whimpers escaped his lips.

“J-Jongin” He bit out, his hips pressing up against Jongin. He panted softly as his fingers dug into the other’s back, leaving scratches in their wake.

“I want y-you” He got out in one breath, and bit his lip waiting for Jongin’s reaction.

Jongin pulled away to sit up on his knees. He then removed his briefs with a quick tug, and studied the older whose eyes went wide. Jongin’s shaft was revealed and shot up with a curve. Kyungsoo felt like he suddenly became even harder than he was before. Jongin was well endowed, and Kyungsoo could only imagine what he will feel like inside of him. Kyungsoo followed suit and lifted his hips from the bed and pulled off his own briefs, his own erection standing prideful. Jongin released a low moan from his chest and went back to Kyungsoo, hovering over him for a split second to give him a wet kiss. He pulled away and went to the bedside table drawer, pulling out a small bottle. Kyungsoo giggled upon seeing what he had in his hand, “Where did you get that?” Jongin didn’t say anything but merely shrugged his shoulders and smirked at him. He unscrewed the bottle of the clear liquid and poured a decent amount on his first three fingers on his right hand. He rubbed the liquid around, and his hand slowly made it’s way down. Kyungsoo looked at him, a little worried as to what he might try. Jongin circled his first finger around Kyungsoo’s hole gently, warming up his fingers a little before he inserted it, making Kyungsoo groan at the foreign feeling. Jongin waited for a small amount of time before he wiggled the finger a little bit, then he began to pull out and thrust back in. Kyungsoo hissed, until Jongin curved his finger a certain way before Soo closed his mouth with his hand as he moaned. His lips plastered together trying to not buck his hips up as Jongin pushed in another finger. Kyungsoo opened his mouth in a silent cry, and pushed down on the younger’s fingers searching for more. It wasn’t until Jongin added the third that Kyungsoo began to get vocal.

“Jongin!” He said in a gasp as the other pushed in the third and final finger, not giving the older any time to adjust to the larger size. “F-fuck, Oh my god.” Kyungsoo yelled out and began to move his hips up and down, he closed his eyes tightly welcoming the pleasure.

“Ah! Jongin I might!” He said and Jongin immediately stopped and pulled his fingers out, wiping them on the blankets, a mess he would worry about later. Kyungsoo groaned at the loss of contact, and his hips searched the air for a moment before he felt a body looming over him.

Jongin straddled Kyungsoo and leaned down next to his ear.

“You look so beautiful like this.” He whispered to him softly, and the older’s face turned a deep, crimson red color. Before he could say anything, he was distracted by Jongin grabbing the bottle of lube from the table and pouring more on his hands. He slowly pumped his cock, spreading the oil all over and butterflies grew in Kyungsoo’s stomach, anxious of what was to come.

Jongin locked eyes with Kyungsoo as he lined his throbbing erection up with Kyungsoo’s weeping hole. Slowly he inched inside the elder, keeping an eye on the other in case something went wrong. It was a tight fit, and Jongin was being squeezed by Kyungsoo’s unrelenting walls, which were trying to suck him in. He let out a moan and closed his eyes and pushed his hips farther up.

It wasn’t until Jongin was fully seated inside Kyungsoo that the elder moaned loudly and tried to pushed down, attempting to get even more inside of him. This caused Jongin to moan and scrunch his eyes shut as Kyungsoo’s walls contracted around him.

“J-Jongin move.” Kyungsoo bit out, gasping as Jongin’s hips did a figure eight and pulled out just a little before pushing back in with a strong force, making the headboard hit the wall. Kyungsoo threw his head back and moaned loudly as Jongin created a steady pace. Sounds of them echoed off the walls, making them both blush. Jongin was more vocal than Kyungsoo would have expected him to be, and he was glad for that since it didn’t make him as embarrassed for his own noise.

Kyungsoo’s jaw slackened as Jongin found the bundle of nerves he was looking for again. Small gasps escaped his mouth, rendering him unable to speak. The younger abused the spot, his thrusts now coming in erratic, words slurring in ecstasy, signaling that he was close.

Kyungsoo’s stomach clenched, his orgasm sneaking up on him. His body convulsed as he came hard onto his stomach, eyes rolling back and his mouth opened as a loud moan filled the room. This action did not go unnoticed by Jongin, who was painfully turned on by Kyungsoo’s release.

“Fuck Kyungsoo..” He gasped out watching as the elder was convulsing with aftershock.

“Holy shit I-I’m going to-” Jongin gasped out as Kyungsoo’s hole clenched around him one last time . Jongin’s jaw clenched tight as he filled the other to the brim with his milky seed. His body shook, as he came down from his high, a wash of relief swam through his body. He became boneless, collapsing on top of Kyungsoo’s cum stained chest.

Silence blanketed the room, the only sounds that were heard were both of their harsh breathing that echoed off the walls. The stared into each other’s eyes, not wanting to move quite yet. Both were mesmerized by each other.

It was Jongin who broke the silence between them after their breathing had steadied. His eyes were tired and his heart was beating heavily in his chest.

“Will you stay with me?”

Kyungsoo smiled softly at Jongin and reached his hands up to the younger’s face, with a loving look in his eyes.

“I’m not going anywhere.”
