Go see Hellboy 2
If you want a little bit of everything. Bit slow in some areas but I still LoL'd at many things done and said. I also love the sort of drift into extreme magical mythology and the use of elementals. I won't say more as it will spoil for those who have not seen it. And the "twist" REALLY is awesome; I literally sat forward in my seat with my hands over my mouth saying "Oh my Gods". I told my co-workers (who tagged along) that I have no favorite modern directors; that has now changed. Guillermo Del Toro wins hands down. He makes what I use to dream/write about as a kid and as an adult.
I have to go pick his other works now. I hope he does more dark fantasy in the future. I also think he would do the Harry Potter movies more justice.
