New Semester
Wow, doesn't seem like it ought to be 2009 already! Makes me think about the time capsule I made in the 5th grade. I'm not allowed to open it till next year, but I remember how far away 2010 sounded in 1999. I'm trying to remember what all I put in there, and I know I wrote a letter to myself (not that I remember what I wrote in it, mind you) and that I put the scented wax case for my braces in it. I remember thinking that that would remind me that I had braces then. Thinking back now, it seems rather silly to think that I would forget something like that, but hey, whatever.
Been doing alright for the most part. Getting ready to go back to Mobile tomorrow. Christmas was fantastic, I really enjoyed seeing my family. I was more than ready for a break. Ended up with one B in GEO101, but I'm really not upset about it. I would have done better if the man had been able to test like a normal person, but I've decided not to dwell on it. Anyway, my father's gonna have to go back to Kuwait for a month (he leaves Monday), and he'll have to go to Egypt sometime this year, too. I wish they hadn't decided to wait till now to ship him all over the world, but years of having him stationed elsewhere has kind of lessened the distress. Unfortunately, I'm worried about my littlest brother. Whereas Craig and I are somewhat used to Dad being gone, since he was gone a lot as we were growing up, Jarrett hasn't ever been in a situation where he couldn't even call Dad. Since he's really attached to Dad, I daresay more than Craig and I, I worry about how he's going to cope with the situation. I guess we'll just have to see.
In other news, I bought some Mystics for Sydelle, and I plan to re-do her faceup soon after I return to Mobile. Here's hoping that I don't screw it up too badly!
