Today, I fly the flag. I also decided to honorably dispose of a cloth flag that has seen much service. I took the flag to my local city hall, but the box for disposal by the American Legion was jammed by another flag. This is our flag, not a piece of paper to be crammed in carelessly, so I went to another city hall in another city to properly turn the flag over for disposal.
The papers all say, "Never forget". For me, it is a meaningless statement. I can not forget this day. It is impossible for me to forget what happened on this day. For those who serve, thank you.
