So this month I have quite a few things going on. About mid month I go down to Florida for a week to meet up with some friends and after that I really want to try to make it up to TF-Con.
The problem is the timing of my trips, bills, and incoming money. I'm pretty sure I will be fine but I always get really worried that I will over spend either before or during my trip and not have money for my bills.
So specific worries are for the Florida trip that one of my Student loan payments (the larger one) comes due at the end of that week so if I do overspend there would be no money in the account to cover that. TF-Con being the weekend right after I have to worry about that student loan as well and the fact that if I barely make it with that Loan payment I would have no money to spend at TF-Con which would kind of kill the enjoyment of the trip (I like having ample money for spending when going to conventions because I would rather have money left over rather then pass up items I really want because I ran out of funds and I already know there is one person I want to buy a potentially pricy item from)
So far I haven't even booked anything for TF-Con but I think I may at least book the hotel sometime today and fly by the seat of my pants with the registration. Thankfully the convention is close enough to drive to but it will be the longest road trip I have ever gone on by myself (8 hour drive). Booking just the hotel also leaves me the flexibility that if I can't make it I just have to cancel my hotel reservation by the Wednesday before.
Has anyone ever gone to TF-con that can give my any advise?
Like what the scheduling is typically like that way I can kind of plan out when I would need to leave my house (like should I leave Thursday to be sure I am there for any early events on Friday) and figure out if I need to book for Sunday night and drive home Monday.
It's all these little things that drive me crazy trying to plan these kinds of trips for the first time.
tf-con,
