Every spring and fall, my boss does a book preview where she talks about her favorite new children's titles from the season. It's a ticketed event, and included in the ticket is a list of the books with her notes on each title. Today I had a lady walk in the door and ask if we sold wrapping paper. I said no, but we offer complimentary gift wrap on items purchased from us. She said she didn't want anything, than asked if we would sell her some of our paper because "she didn't want to wait in line at a real store."

Needless to say, she didn't get any wrapping paper.

Today Jeans and I were talking about a book group she's in. A small publisher submits manuscripts to a group of volunteers for vetting and proofreading.
