1. Game of Thrones
Yup, I finally sat down and started watching this show. I didn't want to begin it until I'd read the book, and I finally finished A Game of Thrones in July. I still haven't gotten over the novelty of not working on Black Friday. It's glorious! Even though I no longer labor as a retail slave, I can't work up the energy to participate in the after-Thanksgiving shopping extravaganza. Lucky for me, my family feels the same way, so today instead of going to the mall we went to see a movie.

I finished the first season of Downton Abbey yesterday. Wow. What a fantastic show. I’m really bummed that the second season isn’t yet available on Netflix, because I want to keep going and see what’s in store for the Crawley family and their army of servants during World War I!

Today was the final exam for my Mummies class.  It was a relief to finish it.  Although I found that class very challenging, thanks to my poor grasp of anatomy and inability to remember all the diseases that afflicted the dead, it was possibly my easiest class because I didn't have to write a big paper or make a presentation.  As long as I showed ( Read more... )

The quiz in my mummy class wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It wasn't easy, to be sure - since it's a physical anthropology class there's a focus on the evidence for diseases found in the mummies, so my cultural knowledge of Egyptian society and associated religious rites wasn't all that useful.
