Back to Reality
I watched two more episodes of "Person of Interest" last night - 1x04 and 1x05. I like it but I don't think I love it yet. I do like how they focus one the person who the machine has picked all episode, I think that works pretty well and gives the opportunity for some cool guest stars. Also like how the guest star is featured in the beginning credits too. While I'm a little bit fuzzy on how the machine chooses people I can get past it, even though it's the main basis of the show. I guess I'm willing to suspend belief for it as I'm more interested in the characters and I'm warming to them a now.
I'm pretty sure Jim Caviezel's character - John Reese, I think - could kill you with one stare if he wanted to. He's such a badass! And I do like a good badass on my TV screen. I did like that in 1x04 he didn't want the doctor to kill that douche bag but not because the guy didn't deserve it but because he knew it would ruin her life and she'd never get over it. I liked the ambiguity of the end of that episode too. Michael Emerson's character - Finch? - is interesting too and I'm looking forward to finding out more about them both and seeing them get to know each other a little bit better. They both seem like very guarded people but I think once they let each other in they'll become good friends. Thought the scene at the end of 1x05 was really sweet when Reese thanked Finch for giving him the job and then Finch suggested something on the menu. Loved Reese's little smile. He's so serious normally so it was nice to see him smile.
In other news: I went back to work today. Almost got blown away on the way there as it was chucking it down with rain and blowing a gale (I might be exaggerating). It's good to be back really as I get bored at home and it's good to get back into the routine. I do miss the kids too.
And "Hawaii Five-0" is back! And aired in the US last night (I'm gonna watch it tonight). I've really missed it even though it's only been gone a couple of weeks. I just need the rest of my shows to come back now.
