Can't think of a title
I had a really bad headache last night - I made it through "Castle" and "Hawaii Five-0" (see previous post) and tried to struggle though the rest of my Tuesday night TV schedule.
I watched "Elementary" - 1x07 - I thought it was another good episode this week. I liked the idea that the current case was connected to a previous one that involved Gregson. I especially liked that it was a big case for him and then involved Sherlock suspecting that he'd planted evidence all those years ago - and then made Gregson realise what his then partner had done. I liked that he was willing to come clean about what had happened rather than cover it up. Gregson is a pretty cool character and I liked that this episode had a lot of background about him. I hope we find out more him as the show goes on. I also liked it that even when Sherlock suspected Gregson of planting the evidence he still thought he did it for the right reasons. And didn't think he was a bad cop. I liked their scenes together in this episode.
The stuff between Sherlock and Joan was pretty good too - with Joan really wanting him to open up to her about things and in the end he did. He opened up as much as he was willing anyway. I liked that even though she had the letters and wanted to know about Irene she didn't open them because she knew it wasn't right. I quite liked the distance between them in this episode. Obviously Sherlock doesn't just open up to people like that, it takes him time so him even giving Joan a little bit of information about Irene is a breakthrough.
Even with my headache causing me to rewind bits and watch again (because I'd somehow managed to zone out and miss vital plot points) I still figured out who the killer was before Sherlock did. I really liked the characters and character progression in this show but think maybe they need to improve slightly on the cases, make them a little less predictable. Although, as a procedural I think this is a good one.
After watching that I tried to make it through "Alphas" but had to give up after about ten minutes. I'll try and catch up tonight or tomorrow.
I thought a good nights sleep would clear my head but unfortunately it didn't. I woke up this morning with a headache (not as bad as last nights though). Thankfully after taking some decongestants this morning it's got better, still a bit fuzzy though.
