I keep holding out on comments when I beta this so I can tell you in a better way the ways in which I want to see more of this fic on a daily basis.
There was something about the later scenes, with the awkward tension between them as the movie keeps playing, and then the way that Veronica wants to make that move that just make my heart grow about five times. (Truth be told, I squeed to a friend as I did the beta of this.)
Now I'm curious about where this is really going, especially after the freak-out about Lilly possibly being back.
Truth be told, I squeed to a friend as I did the beta of this. and I squeed reading THAT!! Thank you Roz! I like that part too. You know, I started writing this for myself but to have other fans of VM like it is an awesome feeling!
I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill Logan... and I know you wouldn't want that ;D
I keep thinking that the tension between them can't get any hotter, but it does... and now it's at a fever pitch. I really loved how you showed Veronica being honest with herself about the way she felt about Lilly coming home. I also liked how she at least shared a little of that with Logan. And I love how you had Logan be the bigger man in the last scene. We know that he wants nothing more than to kiss her silly but holds back, presumably knowing what it would do to her if they went through with it and maybe a little scared of what it would do to him, too.
I love this (I know I've said that before) and I was so incredibly happy to see a update!! Write more soon!!
THANK YOU FOR LOVING THE TENSION! I love writing this like I can't EVEN explain so to get feedback like this makes me SO HAPPY!

I'm working on chapter 8 now and it seems to be going just as well as chapter 7 so *crosses fingers* expect an update soon.
Yay! You're back!! I love this story and these two parts were fabulous. You are doing an amazing job expressing the growing relationship between Logan and Veronica. I love watching their relationship grow deeper as friends and then begin to shift and change into something more. There is such an innocence and yearing to what's happening between them and captured perfectly in the last scene. Can't wait for more!!
Thank you! I am so glad that you feel the way I'm telling this story is working! I have doubts sometime, since this is obviously not a fic about instant gratification so to have you say things like I love watching their relationship grow deeper as friends and then begin to shift and change into something more. Keeps me going. Thanks for liking my fic and for telling me why :)
The Dude abides....and so do I.seluciavApril 12 2008, 19:35:27 UTC
Hooray for a new chappy! It's like Christmas in April. And with this reading, I can now share my entirely fangirly comments. Yay! (FYI, this is the condensed version b/c stupid LJ restricted my character usage AGAIN.)
She decided instead to just sit here, mildly unhinged, willing her best friend to disappear. Both hilarious and poignant - how do you do that? I loved this moment in particular because it's one where Veronica realizes that she's changing and that her priorities and her desires have evolved. Sure that would be scary, but in this instance, I like that it is liberating for her too.
But everything is back to normal. And once again, it is perfectly clear that in Veronica's life, "normal" is not all it is cracked up to be. I loved this little nod to the craptastic S2 “normal is the watchword” theme.
“Oh yes, I’ll remember that, ‘when geriatric lover goes face down in bowl of tapioca consider yourself dumped.’ I’ll bet that’s the first thing they teach you at The Anna Nicole Academy for Gold Digging Tramps.” This just

Alright, this is lazy of me but I totally am not good at leaving feedback and so I'm just going to say: I second everything seluciav said. Particularly the comment that Logan is more like Veronica (in consideration for those he cares about) than he is like Lilly.
The way you wrote the scene with Veronica parked outside the house, silently FREAKING OUT about "Lilly" being there resonated big time - I even had a flippy tummy reading it, that shaky "on the verge of hysterics" feeling. This whole story is written so well, I cannot wait to read more!

Thank you! Feedback of any kind is WONDERFUL! I'm thrilled that you feel the same as Alli and that you felt the "verge of hysterics" feeling because that means I'm expressing what I'm thinking and that means A LOT!!

Oh Alli, you are TOO KIND!! Thank you!
Veronica has evolved and will continue to within my fic, and I fully believe that even when Veronica was spouting all her "normal" stuff in season 2 I don't think that's what she TRULY wanted, or the "normal" she was striving for no longer existed and she jsut convinced herself - for lots of reasons - that being "normal" would make her happy.
I cannot TELL you how awesome it is that I made you laugh! I really want this fic to feel like the show (save the swears and other naughtiness I'm allowed being that it's not ACTUALLY on TV) and VM was always good at balancing humor and drama so YAY!!
Oh, how the irony kills. Although I don't exactly know who your Lilly is in this verse, I still suspect that if the situation were reversed (and Veronica's boyfriend wasn’t Duncan) that Lilly would just do whatever she wanted and damn the consequences. Lilly is Lilly in my fic and I ENTIRELY agree that Lilly would have absolutely NO PROBLEM doing whatever she wanted with anyone Veronica was interested in
