Wow, I've really been slacking on the posting recently.
Friday afternoon my boss lent me a book called "Tuesdays with Morrie", so I devoured that like a guinea pig with a carrot. Figuratively of course- I didn't actually eat the book... it would have been hard to return it that way. Anyway, yes, I read the whole thing really quickly. I have a hard time putting down books- not putting them down as such, but being able to sleep before I've finished. This is part of the reason why I rarely read. At any rate, the book was fantastic- I recommend it. Last night I read "Hatchet", a book that I still had from my middle-school days. It was very good, and when I read at night in bed and it's dark, it's like a parallel universe where I'm in the book. It's me that's sitting beside the pilot having a heart attack, it's me trying to land the plane, it's me getting slammed into the water by a moose, it's me that's frustrated by the twigs not catching fire from the sparks, it's me that's disappointed as a rescue plane could be heard but did not come close enough to see me. Great book, only a few hours of sleep last night.
Yesterday I got my truck's oil and air filter changed, and got the truck washed too. Today I put gas in and cleaned out the inside. I'm ready. Ready for tomorrow, the big day.
Today the sun was shining like it was summer, and everyone took off their jackets and opened their car windows to let the rays shine on their sun-starved skin. I threw on some Keith Urban- perfect sunny-day-car-ride music, and did my errands around town... taking pictures and the like. It was wonderful. Unfortunately, the clouds are supposed to roll in tonight, and perhaps rain tomorrow.
I've been chatting with Sara, that girl from town with trich like me. She's a few years younger, but it doesn't matter- it is very exciting, the idea of someone from here with what I have. I emailed Leslie at TLC about it because I couldn't keep my excitement in. They love to hear things like that... all of us, the trich community, are like their children... and nothing makes them happier than when we are joyous. That said, I've been having a rough trich day (probably because I'm a little stressed about tomorrow). The difference now over last year is that I'm not upset that I'm having a bad trich day. A bad trich day doesn't equal a bad day... it just means my hands have been extra busy. My nail-beds hurt from pulling all day. Whatever happens tomorrow will happen, and by the end of the afternoon, my nerves will be at rest no matter what the outcome.
I've been walking lots with the dogs, trying to enjoy the nice weather while it lasts. Also, walking lots on the pavement wears down the dogs' nails, which is a bonus since they hate having their nails trimmed. Over the couple weeks that we had lots of snow (and therefore, no walking), Angel's back muscles seem to have stiffened. Hopefully the walking will help loosen them up a bit. Oh yeah, and I hear walking is good exercise, but that doesn't matter. The second I start doing it because I 'should', because I 'need the exercise', because I could 'stand to lose a few', I will also start despising it... I really do not want to despise spending time in my neighbourhood with my dogs.
On a totally different subject, why would a celebrity post nude photos of herself on purpose? I always thought the point of celebrities was the left-to-the-imagination aspect... the whole everyone-wants-to-see-them-naked-but-nobody-can aspect. This was kind of like telling us the ending of the book before letting us read any other part of it. Oh well, it'll be yesterday's news before you know it.
Well, it's getting to be time for bed. I think I covered everything of importance... but if not, I'll post again soon! I hope all of you are well!
