E-PHIT: Dietician Visit 1

Mar 11, 2013 08:50

Hey there gang! I have been sooooo sick and so I am just now getting around to posting this. I'm on the mend now, so no worries!

Last Friday morning I went in for my first visit with the dietician and was happily surprised to see Eric there (squee) and Nick was there too. So, it was good that I'm starting to see some familiar faces around there. Makes me feel more a part of a group rather than just data. LOL

I met with Whitney, who is apparently a student, and she basically took my food log (we need to write down our food intake for 2 weekdays and one weekend day...log any eggs we eat, and log our activity) and looked over it, asked me a few questions about how I prepared certain foods, gave me another log and sent me on my way. Needless to say I was more than a little disappointed that I was sick and had got out of bed early that morning to meet with her before work.

So, when I got in to work, I emailed Rachelle, the head of the study and asked her if this was normal and apparently this was typical for the very first visit. The next time I go in, they will have information for me and I will be meeting not only with Whitney, but also with Ali, who is a registered dietician and she is going to look into nutrition options for my PCOS so I'm feeling better about all of it again.

I will meet with them again early Friday morning so WHEE!! Did my food log yesterday and will be doing it again today. It does make me more mindful of what I eat and how much I snack...so I find on days I'm doing my food log, I tend to be a little more on the straight and narrow, which is probably bad for their data. HAHA

Anywho, that's it for now, but I will keep you all posted! I'm really looking forward to the information I'll get on Friday. Let's hope not a lot of people are in the room listening to my business. There's usually someone in there doing a meal challenge or something and it's a small room. Anyone who knows me, knows I look at people like Gollum, "Not it's business!" HAHAHA
