I learned a cool thing from a book: Hanlon's razor: "don't casually attribute to malice what could be the result of cluelessness or sheer stupidity". That's my paraphrase, I'm pretty sure the original was put better. But I like it. It doesn't make the world any less scary, but it does make me a little less cranky.
