I got this extra-strange sundew plant the other weekend at the nursery. It grows these leaves shaped kinda like old-style rooftop tv antennas, branching and rebranching at right angles. And each branch is covered with little hairs tipped with sticky little blobs of fluid.
I got it just because it was cool and I'd never seen one that shape before, but it's turned out to be fabulously practical too. It's god's own flypaper. There is not one little fly roaming around anywhere in the house. Not even over the grapes.
It won't work on the bigger ones, I'll just have to get some venus flytraps for them. I already have some nice pitcher plants under the new lights too, no pitchers yet but they're getting there.
I like my green pets.
