I've been living in Bethesda, MD for most of my life, and I'd say I have a pretty good grasp of what goes on in the neighborhood. Our informal subtitle is "city of 1,000 restaurants," and for the most part it's accurate -- we have a LOT of places to eat within a one-mile radius. I love walking places, so it's a great fit for me. The dangerous part is not so much that I live near downtown, but that I work there, too. My favorite store in the world, Mustard Seed (used and new clothing + jewelry + shoes), is a three-minute walk away from my office. If I can resist going on my lunch break, my friend and co-worker Anne will talk me into it when she can't. As a result I have accumulated tons of great clothes for cheap, which is awesome. But I've also accumulated stuff.
I let Anne talk me into buying pleather leggings last time we went. I made her promise me we'd do something that would require my wearing them. Well, DC Yelp's holding an event tonight that involves a party bus and four locations to drink/dance at in the city. We are of course referring to the event as "Drunk Bus" even thought the official name is "the Gran Sierpe Pisco Bus Tour." What better occasion to wear pleather leggings? I'm kind of ridiculously excited about the whole evening, even though it's on a work night and I'm already exhausted from staying out late yesterday. Such a rough life I lead...
Maybe I'll post pictures of the evening here so my new-ish LJ friends can see what I look like. Also, poke me to post an intro sometime soon if you want one; I know I like having some background on whoever's journal I read, and should return the favor.
yelp,
