correcting the written word makes me giddy
This afternoon my sister sent me a few of her grad school application essays to look over, with a 20 minute deadline for feedback because she needed to mail them out by 3. I whipped out my red pencil, scanned and e-mailed them back in 15. I love editing -- this was the most fun I've had at my job in weeks. I'm still kind of buzzed from it. Why the hell am I proofreading?
