history?

so, i was there last night as david beckham made his Major League Soccer debut against my DC United.

yes, he was dreamy so so dreamy...and the crowd cheered for him when he warmed up or when he took off his shirt (notice all the pictures) and also when he finally got on the field.

i was one of a few that boo'd him on the field.

i mean, shit, this is DC UNITED's not the stupid la galaxy's home field right? but all the women and little girls and all the other people who don't know shit about soccer came out to cheer for becks.

it is embarrassing really...look at what the Guardian had to say...

"Amid a flurry of camera flashes and near-hysterical cheers from the stands, David Beckham made his MLS league debut as his 10-man LA Galaxy lost to DC United last night.

A sell-out game at the RFK Stadium in Washington saw the former England skipper come off the bench for the last 20 minutes to an electrifying reception.

But despite the cheers and screams - from the Washington fans - the Beckham effect energised the crowd but had little sway on the outcome of the match."

the emphasis is not added - that is how they printed it. why couldn't we care more for the United? why is one idiot white boy more important than the entire sport?

well, it is over now. hopefully the next time he is in town there will be fewer girls gushing in their pants just because they can see his pretty little face.

anyway, i've always thought Totti was a bit more...manly looking and a better player...

and a few more for you ladies...

oh, well. the game - we WON! we played alright. i think we should have scored more goals. i was disappointed that Gomez didn't play last night. because of that i think they moved Fredfrom the right to attacking mid and moved one of my favorite players Ben Olsen from defensive mid to the right and then placed Simms in the def mid spot. but Simms played like shit. and Fred didn't play to well in the middle. at half Olsen and Fred switched places and things were a little better but again, Simms played like shit. Olsen plays that Gattuso role so well it is hard to imagine anyone else doing that for United.

anyway thanks to...

Emilio...league leading goal scorer, and last nights match winner we won the game 1 - 0.

and so history was made.

until his next game anyway...
