2011: My Fandoms
So. Since I joined LJ and fandom more actively back in early 2009, instead of just lurking, my only focus was the Harry Potter H/D fandom.
Since then you've all corrupted me mercilessly. And I've had to update the 'interests' part of my profile MANY times!
Because of that I've made a list of the fandoms I don't necessarily take an active part in, but that I've joined in the sense that I've become a fan and/or I have read/can read fanfiction in that fandom.
THE LIST:
- Harry Potter:
- H/D; this is still my main fandom and OTP.
- Snarry; Yes, well, what can I say - I got curious and googled. Then I read The Tea Series and was sold. I don't read this pairing often, but in periods with months between them I get re-obsessed and read almost little else.
- HP/DM/SS: The best of both worlds ;D Definitely the two fics lomonaaeren have written in this pairing stands out for me. Her Their Phoenix especially!!!
- Various Next-Gen/Cross-Gen/Incest/the RARE femmeslash pairings and gang bangs. You've all made me such a PERVERT, I can't even!!! But, what the hell, I love it! *GRINS* And as I know arineat have said: I'll read almost anything. VERY few pairings or warnings scare me away. They're more like enticement, really xD. Although I'm still very wary when it comes to dark!fic in general. I NEED MY HAPPY ENDING, DAMMIT!
- Merlin:
- I really only read Merlin/Arthur with the occasional Knight porn thrown in. Although I haven't been reading them THAT much lately (see below fandoms v.v) I think this is still my secondary fandom aka the one in which I've read the most besides HP. Looking very much forward to see where the creators will take the next season!
- Supernatural:
- So I watched the first season and the beginning of the second season back in 2009 because I've heard so much about it around LJ and such. Then I got stuck. Then I caught, by coincidence, an episode of season 4 on my TV (and I saw Cas) and then I remembered it and thought: Why not give it a new chance? And I did. This was about 2 month before the sixth season was set to air. I was all: Aaaarh, can I get caught up before S6 airs? I doubted it, but tried anyway. But once I started the 4th season and suddenly discovered the POWER OF CAS ♥_♥ it wasn't that difficult - I practically swallowed Season 4 and 5 and now I'm hooked and LONG for the new episode to air in 2 weeks time.
- The bit of fanfiction I read before I started watching the show again was Wincest, but now I'm Dean/Cas all the way! I've read this pairing quite a bit, too, although not nearly as much as M/A. I just get recs from people who knows the fandom better and read those xD
- White Collar:
- The show aired its first season here in Denmark late summer/early fall. I was hooked from the beginning (and realized that I had to see it because of the talk about it on LJ/twitter) and actually managed not to cheat. I watched the first season one day a week with my mum. When the S1 finale rolled around I started hyperventilating without noticing it for the first time in my life. It was slightly insane. And then I watched the first half of the second season fairly quickly. And I CANNOT WAIT for the S2.5 premiere in 3 days!!! *FLAILS*
- In the beginning I was all Peter/Neal, but Elisabeth ROCKS and then I realized the awesomeness that is Peter/Neal/Elisabeth and now I actually prefer that. Despite the fact that it has a het element. This is the only fandom where an OT3 holds a place in my heart. THEY ARE SO AWESOME I CAN'T EVEN! I've read quite a bit of this as well.
- I have to mention the D/s element in this show. Because it's one of my weaknesses and OH MY GUUUUH!!! And if you're like 'huh?', 'meh' and generally doubtful of the AWESOME that is this show, I hereby link you to THIS POST. I can't really explain it better myself.
- Inception:
- Arthur/Eames all the way, bb! Never read anything else in this fandom. I've read it more than Hawaii Five-0 and perhaps a bit more than White Collar and perhaps Supernatural as well, but not nearly as much as Merlin. But GOD, there's some true gems in this fandom, too, but I really mostly lurk. But it is really an amazing fandom/pairing and if I didn't have so many OTHER fandoms (>.<) I'd definitely read more in it.
- Hawaii Five-0:
- MY NEW LOVE! ♥_♥ Because OMG Steve McGarret and Danny "Danno" Williams *FLAILS* STEVE IS SO IN LOVE I CAN'T EVEN! And Danny and Grace and *FLAILS* THIS SHOW!!! This is VERY recent. And I've swallowed read quite a few Steve/Danny fics this past week and have been catching up on the eps and the like. Just LOVE! Very much love! *nods* And I've made a bid on arineat's QLD flood fic charity offering for a Hawaii Five-0 fic. I want it! Any of you better not outbid me!! *glare*
- Bones:
- This was the first TV series I really became a fan of (ignoring Charmed and my younger years) and it's the only het OTP I have left. I get new episodes next week! Squee! :D I've read like maybe 3 or 5 fanfics in this fandom. Concerning Bones, I mostly just read the spoilers and watch the show *GRINS* STILL LOVE, THOUGH! And although I like the interns/squinterns a lot (I've 'spoken' with the actor who play Clark Edison on twitter! SQUE! \O/) I still miss Zack :/
- Dexter:
- One of my good friend's boyfriend recced this to me and I gave it a chance. Then I was hooked. Then I watched it A LOT. Then they killed off *SPOILER JUST IN CASE* in the S4 finale and I WAS SO ANGRY!!!! Seriously, I've been disappointed by shows or become happy or sad when watching them. I've laughed my ass off. But anger? Only the Dexter S4 finale. BECAUSE AAAAAARGH LFGJHSKDHJGDLKGJDSKGSLJLDS!!! I have NOT wanted to watch season 5 at all as of yet, but *shrugs* I might sometime.
- Queer as Folk US:
- It's been so long since I watched this that it has to be back in 2009 as well. I've never been much for drama TV shows, but this!!! I was hooked from episode one and did nothing but watch it for WEEKS! Justin and Brian ♥ *sighs* Again, like Bones, I've read very very few fics in this fandom, but I still consider myself a fan! ^_^
- Sherlock (Holmes):
- The movie AND the BBC modern AU series was especially awesome :D I've read VERY few in this fandom as well, but I'm looking SO MUCH forward to the sequel to the movie (With Stephen Fry in it, too! SQUE!) and the new BBC Sherlock eps.
- Misfits:
- This is VERY recent and I don't plan to go hunting for fanfic, but damn - I'm definitely a fan! And it, along with rewatching White Collar eps, totally kept me alive during the SRP weeks!
- Assorted amines and mangas:
- Almost all yaoi or shounen-ai xD And because of the awesome joan_waterhouse I now have a t-shirt with "YAOI ZONE" printed on it *GRINS*
- Most notable: Loveless (I was ADDICTED to the manga after watching the Anime and didn't dare finish reading it since it meant that I'd end >.<) and the Bunny "plot" line of Sensitive Pornograph, which nursedarry really is the only one who knows about xD Otherwise I think Junjuo Romantica and the Usagi/Misaki pairing in it is my favorite anime pairing. And then I mustn't forget Haru wo Daiteita and Winter Cicada ♥!!! The anime is good, but the MANGA omg!!! Established relationship LOVE!!! But I STILL haven't finished the manga >.< *hides from Darry* Then there's Nabari no Ou, One Piece, Death Note, Ouran High School Host Club, Sukisyo and Gakuen Heaven along with other smaller random animes. I had a period of addiction around last April. You know, when I suddenly disappeared from my flist? That was the anime addiction.
- Adam Lambert:
- It didn't take much considering all the kissing to ship Adam/Tommy. Especially since I saw it with my own eyes. And Adam was all "Aww, isn't he adorable *ruffles hair*" at the concert as well. Those two days in Copenhagen with anti_blondine is definitely on the top ten list of EPIC TIMES in 2010! I've read ONE fic in this fandom xD
So, generally: Drastic increase in the number of TV shows/series I'm following, OMG! O_O You have all corrupted me! Although I have much more to look forward to in coming weeks xD
