See! What happens?! I don't know! Does Rodney just let Ronon push him back against the altar and start awkwardly mouthing him through his pants? I sort of don't think so, but I can't really see the opposite happening either.
That is a very good question. We should all ponder this question, I think, and try to reach some sort of...hm, what was I saying?
Seriously, though, in Ronon's mind, is giving or getting the blowjob the greater dishonour? And would he want to suggest that Rodney's genes were not above being wasted in such a way? Might he not instead take the dishonour upon himself, (since he's already been proved useless,) grabbing Rodney's head and holding it in place, even when he struggles a little, because one doesn't do that to a comrade? It's a token protest, though, (because Rodney knows (everyone knows) that Ronon's seed is the most easily spared,) and Rodney very shortly opens his mouth.

Oh, yeeees. This whole universe is just so... button-pushing.
Although maybe it's Rodney who goes to his knees willingly, and even though Ronon knows that a ring-eyes' seed is too precious to be wasted, and that he himself is useless and doesn't deserve any better, it still feels a little bit, humiliatingly, like Rodney is rubbing it in

distaste...this tastejssangelApril 12 2006, 07:30:51 UTC
Yes yes!
Maybe Rodney would make those little sounds he sometimes makes when eating particularly delicious food. And Rodney is always so pushy and impatient (as befits a pampered ring-eye), so he would maybe grab Ronon's head and hold him still and just push into his mouth... yes, just the thought makes him shudder with distaste. Yes. He's pretty sure that the tight, clenching feeling in his stomach is distaste.
It's not like Rodney is stronger than Ronon, but every time Ronon thinks about what might happen, he is sure that he wouldn't struggle. Because Rodney is senior on the team! And senior on Atlantis. And a Ring-Eye. So it would be Inappropriate for Ronon to push him away. So Ronon would just have to open his mouth for Rodney. He really wouldn't have a choice.
(BTW - nothing delights me more than the way your comments always include more Ring-World! Hooray for your brain!)

I am very much in the groove of ficlet-writing right now. I'd kind of like to do another ring-world snippet. Is there any scene you really want no one else to touch, because you have Plans? Of course you can also just ignore everything I write for your personal canon.
I don't think it's brainwashing, but I doubt it's biological either. Perhaps it's cultural. Because I must admit that although I like Shep, I did not find him hot in that episode. For the exact same reasons that you did find him hot. He played a killer, and I hated it. I like him much better when he's getting his ass handed to him. Similarly, I really loved Rodney in that episode. He was whimpering! I hated him being hurt, but I love how useless he is in the face of danger. But John scared me. I didn't like it. So I think part of it may be cultural/nationality? I'm german, and we really do not grow up with the whole pro-military thing. We're pretty anti-military, actually. For, umm, obvious reasons. So when I see a guy with a gun, in uniform? I read that as a threat. It doesn't matter how nice he is without the gun. Guns change people. And, as a German who's lived in the US for far too long, if someone's going to be all rambo with a gun, I'd much prefer that person to be me.

I think so, too. I'm also German, and men in uniform just scare me. I grew up learning that a big part of the horror of war is what it turns people into, and that soldiers are scary.
I have to admit that I kind of liked Sheppard's scary competency in Storm/Eye, but in real life, the military scares me. I don't trust men in uniform, and it frightens me when they carry weapons.
When I as in Lebanon eight years ago, there were a lot of road blocks manned with soldiers carrying machine guns. It always made me want to crawl under the car seat and hide.
I grew up learning that a big part of the horror of war is what it turns people into, and that soldiers are scary. There's a fantastic book by a ex-war correspondant named Chris Hedges called "War Is a Force Which Goves Our Lives Meaning" which deals with this issue in a fantastic way

What I think happens is this: Ronon shoves Rodney against the wall by the hip, but more or less just presses against him like he's thrown him to the ground; he's not quite ready to be overtly sexual. And Rodney, being a genius, realizes that sex is on the table, here, with a side order of voyeurism, thank you very much nice kinky aliens, and does Ronon know what the hell he's doing? Because this kind of sex can be really fabulous, especially with Rodney clearly being such an attractive specimin of manhood, but he's fastidious and particular about who exactly gets to stick what where, and he's not putting his arse in the hands (so to speak) of an amateur. Oh, it doesn't have to be penetrative? Whatever, he's still going first, and maybe if Ronon pays attention he can learn something
( ... )
Hee hee! Yes yes good - I love the idea that Rodney would just accept the conditions of the situation (Alien Voyeurs!)and then immediately staying true to his usual MO by bissing Ronon around!
(also, my delight in thinking about this knows no bounds:

Because Rodney - the chronically aware of his health - would definitely be fastidious.)
Lord, I'm so sorry about my spelling. Have no excuse. *face/palm*
But I do think it's important to remember that, while fastidious, and possibly even a hypochondriac, he is not going to turn down sex. Ever. He's just going to dictate the terms to make sure he gets the maximum enjoyment out of it. He's not going first to deny himself, oh no, he's hoping that Ronon will, against all the odds, pick up a few tricks and not be half bad about it. Also, he seems a little uptight and that's not a good way to give a blowjob, you want a looser jaw, and Rodney wants a good blowjob and... what?

I love that you're around LJ. Have I mentioned that? I don't know you well yet, but I love these posts.
watching and rewatchingjssangelApril 12 2006, 08:16:54 UTC
I have re-watched that episode more than any other.
My favorite moment changes each time, but right now it's when Kolya is dragging Elizabeth towards the gate and Sheppard is all UBA (Ultra Bad Ass) "I'm not aiming at her" and then Shoots Kolya, and then suddenly SWOOSH - "Are you all right?" he turns into a Sensitive Hero again for Weir.

Ha! I love it.
I'm with you on the man in uniform love. Ever since I moved to NYC, my favorite holiday has been Fleet Week. ;)
