First Day

Sep 07, 2004 19:50

Today was a great day dearest, and except for a few miner glitches I loved it and cant wait for school to start. For the most part the people were great, nice, polite, but mostly quiet. It felt kind of awkward there not bad but still kind of awkward. People tended to be distant from one an other and, just as a side note I REALLY have to stop telling people about my nick-name and past, then they (I guess it would be “we”) formed into clicks and went off to be “oreanteered”. But on the brighter side I met two really nice guys; Chad and…well I can’t remember the other guys name but, all the same I probably see him tomorrow, but I lament. I hung out with three guys while being there and I really liked it for the same I liked camp being surrounded by fellow believers doing different tasks but ultimately going for the same goal, and in the end (that is before the really serious talk) I made a statement which we all, and all being the tour group I was in, had to laugh at. It was this; “since we, as Christians, can’t (or at least shouldn’t) be mean or rude to our neighbors, we are massively sarcastic”. So then I thought back too camp, remember honey, oh the poor kids but how true it is for the whole tour was crowded by mine and the other guys remarks. But that was the brunt of it all except…Dearest the whole day I saw about 5-7 people who looked a lot like other people I know like Devon and Heather (which really freaked me out by the way) it was like being in a parallel universe where I saw what it would look like if people I knew grew up saved. But for the most part no girls hit on me which was weird ‘cus it was like they didn’t even have guys on the brain or in any thoughts. But still dearest I couldn’t help but talk about you I miss you and look forward to when I can see you again. So good bye for now I’ll talk to you later.
