Maw Maw Pittman's birthday bash on Saturday was so much fun! It was great to get to see so many people that I hadn't seen in a while...distant cousins and such. Maw Maw was so thrilled that so many of us were there at one time. If you have 6 kids you end up with a ton of grandkids and great grandkids (and she also has a few great-great grandkids!)! I was there all afternoon just chit-chatting and snacking...great times!
About an hour ago I finished registering for classes for the first semester of my senior year. That seems a little weird. I'll be a senior in college in the fall. I feel old...lol. Speaking of old my birthday is exactly 4 weeks from today. That's right, on May 3 I will be the big 21! Anyway, I am registered for 18 hours next semester, but I did that with the intention of dropping one. I'm going to see how the first week goes and then drop one of my elective classes.
Work has been okay today, but it's been an extrememly long day! I need 4:00 to hurry up and get here! I have a ton of schoolwork to do when I get home so it's not gonna be a fun night.
I enjoyed American Idol as always last night, even though a few of the performances were off. You know I love Mandisa, but she didn't come close to doing Shania Twain justice with her rendition of "Any Man of Mine." I mean, no one can compare to the ultimate - Shania! But, even if I had never heard the song before, Mandisa was off pitch. My favorites are Paris Bennett and Elliott Yamin. They are both great! I still can't stand Bucky Covington. I'm sorry, but he is just AWFUL! I don't understand why he even made it to Hollywood, and now he's in the Top 9???
On a political note...Tom DeLay did the right thing by resigning from the House of Representatives. But, he didn't do anything but make himself seem more like an ass with his snide comments.
And poor Katherine Harris. For those that don't remember the name, she was Florida's Secretary of State in 2000 and helped George W. Bush claim victory over Al Gore (even though more people voted for Gore). She used her fame to run for a U.S. House seat and won. She now represents Florida's District 13. She's running for the Senate seat currently held my Bill Nelson. She hasn't got a chance! All of her staff have quit, and she's using her own personal money to finance her campaign. It's sad. Even her fellow Republicans didn't want her to run, but they couldn't come up with anyone willing to run against Nelson. It's been a funny campaign to watch, just because NO Democrats like her, and most Republicans don't either. But it's almost getting sad.
So yeah...that's it. Since I haven't given y'all a list of songs to check out in a while I thought I'd do that this afternoon.
