My favourite fashion night of the year has come and gone! This year's Costume Institute Gala was based on the theme 'Model as Muse,' and as expected, every designer that showed up had a model to tag along. Usually the themes are much more specific, however this year I thought it was rather open to intepretation. In my opinion, Model as Muse was all about iconic looks from the runway; the shorter the better, the weirder the better and the more 'inspired' the better. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed at this year's turn out. I spotted only one Lanvin ensemble, despite the fact that Alber Elbaz attended, not to mention that there was no Prada or Miu Miu at all. And really, Miuccia Prada sets the trends; anything she designs pops up as the next big trend the following season. I was also pretty peeved off at people that didn't deserve to be there, like Emma Roberts, Ciara, Selma Blair; people who haven't had any sort of iconic fashion moment.
That said, it was nice to see faces that rarely grace the spotlights. My favourites were Ashley Olsen's amazing white number, Kate Moss' vintage inspired ensemble, Lara Stone's mesh dress and Rose Byrne's goddess meets rock look.
