Back home again, after an amazing week in the freezing north. Awe-inspiring sights on Norderney, which wasn't Antarctica, but close! -15°, strong winds and snow, yet we fought our way across the dunes and along the shore, arriving back at the hotel to try and get our body temparatures back to normal in the sauna. There are good photographs and bad ones, some touch us and others leave us cold. But sometimes, a picture can be a tiny time-machine. I think the pictures in the gallery below have to be counted among those; they transported me back to a period in the USA I don't know much about. It wasn't a Kodak, though, but my mobile phone. Still - I'm very happy with this picture. No Photoshop, by the way! It's real! I'm not much of a photographer; I lack the patience and technical knowledge. But I really like this one.

I was incredibly lucky to be in Berlin when the public was allowed to see the newly-restored building for the first time. After all, when do you ever get to see an empty museum? And one with such a history?
