Cooking! Or how not to do it...

I love cooking. I usually cook from scratch, I don't own a microwave (if there should ever one become available that looks like a Dalek, I might reconsider, though). I could say that I do this because it's healthier and better etc., but the truth is that it's more fun, at least for me. ;-) Fun times are had with Italian dishes; onions and garlic

Yes well the Food Network sometimes thinks that they're showing morons how to cook and Rachel Ray isn't what I'd call high cuisine even on her best recipes. :)

We don't get the Food Network here, but this "recipe" does not really tempt me to find a way to get it, anyway. At first I thought it was a belated April Fool's joke! "Late Night Bacon" - awesome! :-D

I like to watch their cake decorating show, because they actually have impressive skills that I kind of envy (and tools I envy as well), but most of the other shows I put on for background noise more than anything else.

I don't think I've ever looked up a recipe on their site come to think of it...

Cake decorating is awesome. Or themed cakes! I love them. A friend of mine does the most amazing things, while I stick to slapping icing on the cake to hide the spots where the cake stuck to the oven, heh!

Roasted bacon... right. That's it. I'll apply with Food Network and demand my own show. They won't turn me down once they realise I can make scrambled eggs! :-D

I wish I could do it, but I suspect that I would do that well at decorating them and it would cost way too much to get the supplies to find out whether I was good at it. I've made too many bad sewing projects at great cost to risk it. :(

I have some great ideas in my head for cute cakes, it's just the execution I suspect would fail.

I make good cakes too, but they don't always look as pretty as they could.
