I just finished the audio version of Pride and Prejudice, narrated by Irene Sutcliffe. Although I knew the story, I'd never actually read the book before.

I'm currently about two-thirds of the way through the audio book of Mockingjay, the final book in the Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. Enjoying it so far. Carolyn McCormick does a great job as narrator.

I do a fair amount of driving these days. I used to resent the time spent trapped in that mobile metal box, but a few years ago, I realized I didn't have to waste those hours. I just finished listening to Michael Crichton's last book, Pirate Latitudes. The title's a little naughty, considering the book's about privateers, not pirates (privateers were gentlemen of fortune, whose work was approved/encouraged by their monarch - in exchange for a percentage of any plunder ( Read more... )

I've listened to a couple of classic books during the last week or so.

Have Space Suit Will Travel, by Robert A. Heinlein, was the first science fiction novel I ever read (I think I was about ten or eleven at the time). I was surprised at how much of the characters and story I remembered, and how much I enjoyed revisiting this great yarn.
