So I had a busy weekend.
Friday afternoon I went to the Renaissance Fair. I stayed around 3 hours. The best part for me is watching the people in costumes. I saw Conan and other barbarians, 2 fairies with 5 foot wing spans, mulititude of pirates, bellydancers, and victorians. There was a storyteller who had eleven shows planned and she had different stories for each show each 20 minutes long. I heard two of them. She was very good and traveled with her husband, the blacksmith, in a homemade castle attached to a semi for 9 months of the year. Of course I bought kettle corn and a souvinior, a magnet with a dragon reading a book on it. I didn't dress up as such but I did wear one of my masks around and one man tried to honk my nose and another man asked me if I was hiding from someone. A pair of ladies walked by me and I heard one say "I have to buy a mask! I need one of those!" I wonder how long they wandered around looking for the booth. :)
Saturday I saw Harry Potter Deathly Hollows part 2 for the first time. It turned out really well. I hate when they feel like they have to change the movie around from the book though and I'm glad in a way that they are over. They just kept coming.
Sunday I must have driven 65-70 miles from Henderson to out past Summerlin. I am now well acquanted with US 95 and the 515 and 215. I live in the East side which is I think about halfway between the runs. arrgh. I did stop for a brief time at Centennial Park where Smith's stores had some kind of party going on. I got a free cookie and a bag of cracker jacks!
