Quick question to Linux friends: How can I disable either the Gnome 'Places' menu or more likely how do I disable Nautilus file browser? I'm trying to do a stripped down set up (kinda like a kiosk setup). So sinec we decided that the existing Linux rdesktop software would be acceptable for use by SoThin's existing clients we now come to a new stage. We need to be able to install Linux (currently Ubuntu) from a USB drive to client machines. As part of my project for SoThin I want to be able to 'lock out' access to the Gnome desktop when my application is running. I've read about the Gconf admin tools, so that's an option if my client software were ever to actually get depolyed.
