a pyramid of tiny snacks
My folks were in town this weekend so we got our glad rags on and I took my Mum out to 'high tea' at one of the flash hotels in town.
We had an absolute ball :)
Starting out with a glass of bubbles each, and a gorgeous tiered tray with tiny club sandwiches, savory pastries, tiny fruit and chocolate scones (chocolate scones were a new one for me) with jam and whipped cream, and little gems of sweet pastry tarts.
Not to mention a ridiculously large pot of English breakfast tea.
It was a lovely afternoon, and we sat in the foyer making up stories about the people checking into the hotel while we waited for the guys to pick us up (they'd been watching football and eating chips).
I don't spend enough time just me and my Mum, and we had a lot of fun.
