Ok, this week's been a bit more eventful so far. On the productive front, I've been doing some reading ("The Creative Mind" by Margaret Boden) for my research paper. I've also been doing a stock-take, i.e. entering details of my comics collection into my database, so that I have a list to take along to the marketplace next weekend.

Meanwhile, I went off to see "Bulletproof Monk" at the cinema on Wednesday, which is a fun film. I must get round to watching "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" at some point, since that's the only thing left in my backlog of DVDs. Then off to the pub last night. There are plans afoot for a circle line pub crawl next month, which involves 27 stops. The plan is to drink halves rather than pints, but the general concensus is that if I try to drink a bottle of Diamond White at each pub then this would have unfortunate consequences... (Some people reading this will remember the drinking game in Durham, which only involved 6 bottles, and its aftermath!) The thing is, I don't really like the taste of bitter, and I can barely even stomach lager. I could drink white wine, but it doesn't quite fit the image of a pub crawl, and I gather that it's also up there next to cider on the "gut rot" scale. So, I tried out whiskey last night - I figure that's a man's drink! (Thinking of the western films I've seen.) It tasted ok (although I still prefer Coke), and since it comes in small quantities, it doesn't matter if it takes me a bit longer to sip it rather than gulp it. I'm not sure which brand I tried last night, so I could try a few different varieties. From my time as a barman, I remember that the Glen... products were quite popular, e.g. Glenmorangie and Glenfiddich.
