Last year my Mom was learning to play the Gnossiennes by Erik Satie. She asked me to translate the offbeat French phrases Satie sprinkled through his scores:

très luisant - very shining
questionnez - ask questions
du bout de la pensée - from the beginning of the thought
postulez en vous-même - plead your own case
pas à pas - step by step

I recognized you anyway, Erik! You share the name of a composer. And what a composer...! I thought of you when playing the other Erik's music.

Have you seen that movie Erik the Viking? It's a blast. I want to see it again.
