One theory...
as to why we like or dislike certain characters, particularly characters in the Harry Potter fandom, is that we can either understand them or we cannot. Some characters, we can identify with one some levels, while with others, like the female characters in particular for me, we can't identify with at all.
So let us experiment, shall we? Let's see how well I can pretend to be your favourite, or least favourite character!
1) Declare which character you want me to answer as (Cedric Diggory, Hermione Granger etc...)
2) Ask me anything at all, and I'll try to answer as the specified character
3) Tell me how good, or how stupid my answer was.
The purpose is to see if how capable we are of understanding each character, and which ones we entirely miss the mark on.
example query:
1) Professor Snape
2) Why are you so mean to Harry Potter?
my answer (will depend on which house you happen to be in)
Ten points from < Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff > for your cheek at asking such a question. *Walks over to your desk, black robes billowing, and I lean close enough for you to smell the acrid potion residues on my clothes and greasy hair* Detention, 7:00 pm!
3) You suck/ that was great/ you sounded more like < insert character's name here >/Okay, are you going to make me scrub caldrons again?
