I forgot to mention.. when E and I went to the Young and the Restless we drove through Hollywood and saw a transvestite (sp?) and a man fighting. He threw a traffic cone at her/him. And by throw I mean he took like a spin start and put everything into that throw. The trannie also had a cart with luggage and he started throwing the bag at her/him. It was CRAZY for 9:30 in the morning.

One other thing I should mention is that Constintine (sp?) was at the Emmys because hes doing some small role on Bold an dBeautiful. He is that guy from American Idol. I dont really know who he is but when I was visiting Erica at Y and R I was in an elevator with him (Bold and the Beautiful tapes in the same studios as Y and R) and he couldnt work the elevator. We were on the first floor and he gets in with me and keeps hitting the 1st floor button so the doors wouldnt close. So he asks me "what floor are we on right now?" and I say "We are on the first right now" and he says "{oh I always forget" and hits the second floor button. So at the time I didnt know who it was.. I knew that I knew him from somewhere but I had no idea where. Friday morning I see a picture of him on the internet and tell Erica "Thats the elevator guy!" and she tells me hes been on the B and B for a while now and he couldnt figure out what floor he was on.. there are only three floors. The 3rd floor are the offices for both shows, the 2nd floor is where the actors dressing rooms are, and the 1st is where the studios for taping are. I knew what floor I was on and going to and I was only there for about an hour.. he's been there for weeks and couldnt figure it out. Not a smart one. I guess American Idol doesnt have an IQ test as part of the contest (although I think there should be).

EMMY STUFF:
So Friday night was the Daytime Emmy day. So Erica talks to her friends and she was positive that everyone was taking the metro (subway) to the Emmys..and that they did it last year and avoided traffic and stuff like that. So despite my better judgment, I agreed. So of course everyone stares at us. On the way to the metro. In the metro station. On the train. Getting off the train. I felt so retarded. I would turn around and see swarms of people with blank stares facing me. We looked so retarded. I felt so stupid. So we leave the subwayand the red carpet starts. We walk next to the red carpet (although I think we were supposed to be on the carpet because Erica was part of a nominated group? I dont know, the whole thing was not organized well) so we meet up inside with the rest of the Y and R group. In the lobby is where everyone chats and it was funny because I dont know soap people and erica kept whispering to me who everyone was. It was pretty cool. I actually recignized people from Days and Passions. So then we go to our seats and Erica was so mad because this year all production people (for all the soaps) were put in the balcony. We sat with Tommy who won an Emmy the night before at the Technical Emmys. It was his 12? win. Being in the balcony it meant that if Y and R won best show, there wouldnt be enough time to run downstairs and except with the rest of the show. Well at least we were the second row of the balcony and center, so we had a great view and we were with 20 other Y and R people. The show was good. Ellen was hilarious, and Portia was there (from Arrested Development). The cats of the View was there, sans Rosie. We hoped if they won that she would jump out of the shaddows. Bob Barker was there and there were several tributes to him. Tyra Banks, Elmo, Betty White, Jerry Springer, Rachel Ray, and more really cool people. Y and R ended up wining three catagories: Young Actor, Lead Male Actor, and BEST SHOW! Thats right. They won best show and tied for it with Guiding Light (who's crew was sitting next to us). This was the first time there has been a tie for best show. Y and R was not expected to win.. in fact One Life to Live (OLTL) was supposed to win and they weren't even part of the tie.. and they didnt win anything and they were slated to win a lot of catagories. It was a good day for Y and R but Erica used to work at OLTL and afterword she saw he friend from the show and the producers and looked REALLY angry. So the show ends and we head to the lobby which is madness. There was an escalator that you needed a special ticket to go up (leading to a diner for nominees and top execs.) and we saw the guy that owns Sony?( or the shows at Sony.. he's some really important person in the TV biz) and he was trying to go up the escalator but one of the women in his party didnt have her ticket so the security wouldnt let them up. That means someone on security is getting f.i.r.e.d lol. It was funny how intitled the security/ ushers felt. No one was allowed to bring cameras in the show but Erica was like "no way am I giving you my camera" and so the security lady was like" fine, just go" and behind us was a soap star that also was pissed about giving up her camera. When we left at the end, the line was so freakin big to go get cameras. And yet there was a large fan section that was on stage for the show and they were handing out cameras to them. WTF? Fans get cameras but the actors and people who work hard on the show weren't allowed to bring cameras? After the show there was one hour of downtime before the CBS after-party, so Y and R reserved the resturant/bar Vert in the Kodak Theater complex. We went there and had some snacks and drinks (open bar.. and they dont card at after parties- SWEET). So we chat take pics and drink. Erica got to take pictures with the emmy. This lasted an hour and we headed to the CBS party. (One of the guys from the show was so drunk and he was whereing a surong thing insted of pants, and he came up to us and chatted. It was funny. He's a nice guy and when I met him last week he was sweet.) At the CBS party it was for all the CBS shows (4 soaps and The Price is Right maybe others) and I saw actors from NBC soaps there too. First things first.. FOOD. There are a bunch of buffets and the one we go to is for hamburgers and fried food. We are all in fancy dresses so it's funny watching us eat this food. I ended up only having one bite of my eggplant sandwhich and I have an onion ring because there is too much stuff to do and see. There have these bars all over the room and each bar serves a different type of alcohol. We head to the martini bar where we get White Chocolate Roberto Cavali martinies. SO GOOD. People are also walking around giving out Chardenay (sp?) (very good). We take pictures with Ercias co workers and winners. So we get tired and go to sit down and little do I realize, we sit probably 5 ft from BOB BARKER! we sit there for a while and then decide to walk around more. We talk to more people, get more drinks, take more pictures. We come back to Bob and we get pictures with him. He is so sweet and cute. I love old people. I was also looking for Betty White but I never saw her :( At one point I went to the restroom and when I was walking back I found myself trapped in the middle of an emmy winner sandwich. It was so wierd to look around and be surrounded by soap stars at a cbs afterparty. so Cool. After that the dancing started. SO much fun. There was a dj and great music. Dancing with soap stars. so fun. It was like prom, except with sexy male soap stars, a smoking balcony, and open bar. The desserts were really good too. So we leave a little after midnight and we walk out with Bob Barker in front of us. We made it about three seconds longer than the 80 year old lol. I would have loved to stay longer but my feet were about to fall off. I had awesome shoes except they hurt like hell. So.. is it time to take the subway back?? Oh did i forget to mention that Ericas friends (who she said also took the metro) actually came in a LIMO!! WHAT?! Erica was part of a team that won an emmy and we have to take the metro home?? after midnight in fancy dresses?? Thank goodness one of Ericas friends drove and said she would drive us to our car at the Burbank metro stop, and then we drove home. And Ericas rational for not driving in the first place were A) Her friends were taking it too (not true) B) Parking cost $10 (also not true- it was free, which meant it cost us more money to take the metro than to drive). By not driving it also meant I had to carry around both of our programs all night. I was the only person carrying it and they were big so basically they are in every picture with me, and as we go to leave there was a large pile of them that you could take on the way out.. so i dint even need ot carry it all night. Oh well.

On Saturday I met up with Marin, who I go to RISD with, and we went shopping. That night we went to the Hollywood, Cemetery Forever, and saw a movie. They projected Rebel with out a Cause on a large white building and there were 100's of poeple with picnic baskets and blankets. It was so cool. I was thinking everyone gets a grave.. but they had a lot of land without graves so thats where everyone sat. It was really cool. Especially because Rebel With out a Cause takes place in Hollywood at the Giffith Park Observatory, which you could see in the hills from where we werein the cemetery. Very cool.

A week from Monday there is this Directors Guild Ass. screening of Sicko (Michael Moores movie) and MM is doing a Q and A after the screening. Erica is part of the DGA and she got us tickets. That should be really cool. I cant wait.

Sorry this is so long. I just wantd to remember some key details from the night. And I apologize for the spelling/ typo mistakes.. no time to edit. Ill update as much as I can because I want to have a record of what I do this summer. Ok gtg.
