Visiting Time!

Jan 12, 2009 18:57

Kara wakes up on the sofa bed. "Ugh." Why was it taking so much time for the alcohol from absolutely ages ago to work it's way through her system? Surely her metabolism should extinguish this sort of thing almost instantly. And yet, every morning since drinking too much wine she's suffered from what the humans refer to as a hangover ( Read more... )

"If you're hungry, you should eat." Mar'i slides a bottle of aspirin over to her, then pours a big glass of milk. "Here. Try this first and see how your stomach likes it."

She drinks the milk very quickly, and then takes the aspirin separately. This entire taking drugs thing will require practice. "So who are we going to visit today?"

"I was thinking the Flash, in Keystone City. That'd give us a chance to visit the Flash Museum."

"The Flash..." She bites her lip and starts helping herself to a bowl of cereal. "I still find it difficult to believe Barry Allen is dead. How has the new guy matched up to the legacy?"

As the three heroes fly over Keystone (with Damage in hand, of course), Kara points something out. "Hey! You guys! There's a fire down there!" She gestures at a tall building just as a blast of flame shatters all the windows on one floor.

"We need to help whoever's trapped in there!" Kara shoots down to the building and zips in through a wall.

Quickly Nightstar swoops down to release Damage. "You take the ground--I'll join Supergirl in the air!"

"That's it. Burn. Look beautiful for me." Heat Wave is spraying a jet of rocket fuel-based propellant over the walls, floor and every nook and cranny in the building that he walks past. He deliberately avoids targetting people. The Rogues have an unwritten code, and one of the main points of it is specifically not to kill unless strictly necessary.

Of course, if a civilian is stupid enough to stay around while his floor is being saturated with fuel... Well more fool them. "Look at the beauty in the flames. Look at how they dance." He isn't speaking to anyone in particular, as the fire rushes up the walls around him. He hasn't even explained to anybody why he's doing this.

Supergirl comes flying through a wall, and grabs two civilians she'd spotted with her x-ray vision whilst outside, zipping them through the building and out the front door, but not before getting a quick look and a scorch from the villain she's facing. Yikes.

Suddenly, the local boy is on the scene.

Eyes are wide.

"Holy crap, what did I miss?"

"Only a few things." Supergirl is by the Flash's side in... well, a flash. "Heat Wave and Weather Wizard appear to have something against this building, or the people within it, but it seems they were more attacking the location than the occupants." She holds out a hand. "I'm Supergirl."

Nightstar swoops down to land near Keystone's hero. "Hi, Uncle Flash." She glances over at the unconscious Weather Wizard. "Um, I hope someone's called Keystone PD...."

"Not me. I've got nowhere to stow a cellphone in this costume..." She jets off into the air and reappears in less than a minute she's back. "The cops are on their way." She smiles, quite proud of her superspeed display in front of the Flash.
