Today is Sunday.
I was supposed to game this afternoon with the Sunday players today.
However, that isn't going to happen. I woke up yesterday (Saturday) with a raspy voice, and had a bit of a sore throat as well as a good amount of phlegm in my sinuses and throat, and while I felt better as the day went on my voice got more raspy to the point where last night it felt like my voice was a croak. Hot tea (with lemon) helped quite a bit, but I decided last night that I wouldn't be able to run the game this afternoon, so I let both of my Sunday players know. I woke up this morning feeling somewhat better, but the snow was coming down quite heavily as Ottawa gets hit with its first snowfall of the season. As I write this, the snow continues to come down (quite heavily at times) so the decision last night not to game today for health reasons was ironic, and the weather today has just reinforced the "rightness" of that decision. Anyway, gaming is off for the day.
To be honest, I wasn't really looking forward to continuing on with the Sunday group's first adventure of the
Vaesen - Nordic Horror Roleplaying RPG today. I had planned to run the scenario originally as the Halloween game, figuring it would take me two months or so to finish it (given that the Sunday group meets usually once every couple of weeks), but between health stuff, Tammy's work situation, and a few other issues, the Sunday group has only met for a couple of actual play sessions. Neither the Sunday nor the Friday players have been "feeling" the game recently, due to the coming of December, the colder weather, and the rain and snow we've had. In addition, both gaming groups have expressed an interest in going back now to science fiction, the system of choice being the
Coriolis - The Third Horizon RPG. So Vaesen is done, for now. Rather sad about that, but such is life. Insofar as the Sunday group is concerned, the next regular session would have been Christmas Day, but that's not going to happen for obvious reasons. So the Sunday gaming group won't be playing again until the New Year, Goddess, weather and health willing.
In the meantime, I'm just going to take it easy for the day, stay warm, drink lots of hot tea and water, and may go back to bed for a while.
Have a good day, folks. :)
