Fat Mikey is a cat

I brought home a book for K, who has been pondering turning an awkward part of our front lawn into a more landscaped area with less grass, mostly because it's a bitch to maneuver the lawn mower around the existing plantings. While we're packing lunches and unloading the dishwasher, I told her I'd brought home this new book called "No-mow gardens" and did she want to look at it with me tonight.
ataratah said, several times and in a very concerned way, "No-mow gardens? No-mow gardens?!" I explained how K had wanted less mowing and
ataratah finally said, "OH! No-mow. I thought it was No Mo' Gardens, and I thought we'd already bought the seedlings for this year!"

Then I pulled the other book out of my bag, the random romance I'd found while emptying the book bin this morning, featuring a family bakery and a cat called Fat Mikey (who appeared on the cover.)
ataratah insisted that this sounded like a bandom AU, possibly one I'd write, and then K chimes in, (the woman who read the opening of the Detective Agency and asked me why they weren't musicians, the same one who refers to MCR as "that skeleton band") and says, "Can you imagine reading the summary, and you're like, 'Did she turn Mikey into a cat?'"
