JJ says: So I listened to this mix at 6 am the day we got our posting date and I'm pretty sure I woke the whole street with my shriek at the first song. It sets the tone for a story that depends so much on place - and there's the fact that Billy Corgan solo feels like Gerard in this weird way where you know they're not the same but you can't help noticing the nasally voice and think a little but about how they look alike....There are so many amazing songs on this mix that really capture the tone of the story at so many different points. I love Quelqu'en Ma Dit, for the French but also because it's a love song, or rather, an uncertain love song (someone told me you still loved me.) The Blood of Cu Chulainn is the song I imagine playing in the Consulate the night Ray and Fraser come back. I love Kick in the Shin, because it makes me think of Frank's crazycakes self when he starts being Lemon. I love the inevitable, unavoidable love story of Fatally Yours, and I think What I Say and What I Mean, with the back and forth, is the song that really captures Frank and Gerard in the story.

Ataratah says: Before I listened to our fanmix, I had only ever heard one of the songs before - or two, if you count the Due South theme song - so I was blown away, listening to it, at how on target the songs were. They form a real soundtrack of the story, as atmospheric as they are lyrically appropriate. And the whole set covers everything, Gerard's move, big city culture shock, those brief moments of peaceful baking, and Frank's crazy angst. I couldn't have imagined getting anything better for our story, and having the Due South theme song at the end hits the absolute perfect note.
