I don't know why people say Bronze Age comics weren't thoughtful. I've been reading some and they were thoughtful indeed! To wit:

Aunt Harriet (who lives at the Manor with the guys during the Bronze Age) has to have emergency surgery. So everyone goes to the hospital to...think about it.
