Well, things have been quite busy and hectic for me lately. First off, I have FINALLY finished my Masters degree classes. I will officially graduate on July 31st. I dont think the pay raise will kick in until like September. Im just so glad that I have it all finished with. It has taken me since Fall Semester 2002. I no longer have to fret about any damn reflections, article reviews, portfolios, or research papers. People ask me, "Are you gonna go for your Specialist's degree now?" I used to think I would, but after all this work PLUS teaching, its just a lot at once. Maybe eventually. But right now, I would like to enjoy my weekends and Monday evenings.
As Kelly has mentioned in her journal (which she finally updated...thank you), I have my own place now. I will be moving out completely this coming weekend. I have some stuff in my place now. I feel all adult now because I have made some huge purchases. First off, I have a living room set. And damn is it nice. Black leather, baby. All I have is a love seat, sofa, round glass coffee table, 2 end tables, and 2 lamps. It will take me 2 years to pay all that off. (Which isnt too, too bad.) I also went out and bought a huge entertainment center. And I just bought a brand new computer from Dell. (Flat panel screen!) Oh yeah, and a flat panel screen TV. Man, after typing out all I have bought, I feel all depressed because I now realize how much in debt I will be. But all in all, Im really gonna enjoy it at my place. Its a duplex. An old lady lives next to me. I met her the other day and she seems really nice, although shes a talker and I probably will find myself having hour-long conversations with her about Nascar racing. (Oh yes, shes big in Nascar.) It just will be nice to be on my own. I can come home from work and just sit there in silence. I dont have to talk to anybody, I can yank all my clothes off and sit naked on my black leather sofa if I wanted to. LOL
I must force myself to sit down at some point in the next few days and type out my essays I have to complete for being made Teacher of the Year. They are due on July 16th. This is what the board will read that helps them decide who should be made Teacher of the Year for the entire school system. I have like 7 or 8 questions to answer, and each response should be about 2 pages. Ugh! Anyway, I have to get ready for my appointment with the physical therapist now. I hope all is well with you all. Take care, and let me hear from you if possible.
