One of the must visit if you come to Nanjing is the Sun Yat San Mausoleum (中山陵) and the Ming Xiao Tombs (明孝陵). One is the resting place of the founding Father of Modern China. My first stop in Nanjing brought me to the Presidential Palace at 40Y admission fee. This place is significant as the place where Sun Yat Sen was first sworn in as the first provisional president of the Republic of China in 1911. The Yu Gardens was built during the Ming Dynasty in 1559. Other than being an ancient and significant private garden, its various stone structures, pagodas and pavilions provided excellent photo opportunities for tourists. Not to missed in Shanghai is the "architecture museum" that constitutes the Shanghai Bund. One excellent way to enjoy the scenery is to take a ferry from Pudong Dongchang Road Ferry Terminal (东昌路轮渡) costing only 2Y. The ferry crosses the Huangpu River (黄浦江) with excellent views of the bund on one side and the Pudong New Area(浦东新区) of the other. ( Read more... )
