Classes continue to be excellent. Tomorrow I start labs in the costume shop, which is pretty exciting since we'll mainly be working on Nightingale costumes, and I'm excited to see how everything will take shape. Nightingale update: I'm playing the Queen (Philomele's mother) and June (part of the female chorus, which is really not a very chorus-y chorus, in the Greek sense, as we all speak individually and have distinctive character traits.) Today I made cookies with Andes mint chunks, and they are gloorious. Supposedly the recipe was for a dozen cookies, but it came out nearly three times that. How big were those twelve cookies supposed to be, seriously?

Last night was the first rehearsal for Esther's show, Speak Truth to Power: Voices From Beyond the Dark. It's about human rights activism and what activists go through in order to do their work, so I guess "depressing" is a given, but rehearsal was intense.
