Well, it's not quite 2007 and project #1 of knit from your stash in 2007 is complete: presenting "Pretty n' Punk". Yes, I am stuck in the 80s, and yes, I like to name my projects. :P
I'm 5'4" and if centered around my neck it falls to below my knees. The yarn is Moda Dea "Zing": about 3/4 a ball each of hot pink and a light pink. The alternate name I had for this one was "Well Helloo, Kitty!", but I think I'm sticking with "Pretty n' Punk". I could've done this in one evening if I hadn't done the stripes... man that was alot of weaving ends in! I cast on 15 stitches on size 13 needles with the hot pink and just eyeballed the rest alternating colors until I had one longer middle stripe of hot pink with exactly the same number of stripes of each color on either side of that wider center stripe. The end stripes and center stripe of hot pink are about double the size of the other stripes.
I think next on the agenda is an afghan (thanks for the idea
ofenjen) using up some homespun variegated in a medium blue and tan, jiffy in denim blue and camel, that horrible "pound of love" yarn in baby blue (I swear the amount never seems to diminish - it's got to be enchanted), and red heart worsted in a cobalt blue (a gift from someone who didn't knit). Oh, and some midnight blue Bernat "Disco" (an xmas gift from my nephew ) and same color in a plain eyelash (patons I think). And some plain Navy worsted handed down from my mother. As I look at this it sounds kind of gross... maybe I need to rethink this... hmmmmmmm... I'll have to look over my stash again tomorrow... too sleepy to start anything new tonight, which means not a good time to make decisions...
