Winter Storm #2 hits the ABQ
They just closed our airport to all incoming and outgoing flights (it’s been snowing non-stop since early this morning and not showing any signs of stopping). This is the high school up the road from my office (Sandia HS) taken a few minutes ago by www.kobtv.com (our NBC affiliate). To those of you “back East” this is probably nothing, but this is not very normal weather for us, especially two weeks in a row before it’s even January! Brrrrrrr!
Update: it's midnight and it's still snowing! parts of Abq have already gotten a foot of snow, and parts of Santa Fe 2 feet. Parts of the state are in a blizzard warning. According to this evening's news, we broke local records for snowfall today, and it's still coming down. The interstate is closed from the east side of town to Amarillo, and the west side of town to Arizona. How freaky!
