The Day After

Dec 26, 2006 08:49

Wow. Ate so much junk yesterday I woke up not only full but nauseaous, but I will not beat myself up about it. It's only once a year, right? Or more like once a month. ;) What a great xmas this was. I really felt like my gifts hit the mark, I got them to everyone in time for the holiday, even my goodies came out good, all except the shortbread, which still taste awesome, they just were so "melt-in-your-mouth" buttery I was afraid to ship them. The company's "floating holiday" is today, so I get a 4-day weekend. Good thing too, cause daycare is closed today, not sure what that was all about, as most folks are back to work today I think. I only wish my dear hubby could have stayed home with us today... *sigh*

Following along with many other knitters who share the same disease, "gottahavethisyarnitis", for this new year I am officially knitting only from my stash from now until the end of March. Many others are going longer than that, I'm afraid I can't think that far ahead. I started a new scarf last night out of delicious glimmering eyelash yarn in Hello Kitty colors. I have way too much of that stuff so I am going to make a bunch up and give them to some ladies at work. If a gift necessity arises and I don't have yarn that will work, I will allow myself to purchase, but only for that specific gift project. I don't care what a great deal it is or how luscious the yarn is, until April I will not purchase it excepting for the previous exception I just mentioned. Period. It's not so much the money as the storage space and the desire to discipline myself a bit. I really lack self-discipline. Really. Alot.

Wish I could do like yesterday and stay in my jammies all day, but want to see my nephews again before they take off tonight. So I guess I better get off the interweb and get in the shower. Hope everyone had a great day yesterday! Hugs to my peeps and don't forget to use some of that precious downtime to craft something fun. lotsa love
